I'd add peas, roughiy chopped water chestnuts, sliced fried mushrooms and bamboo shoòts to the rice. Then I'd take a similar volume of skinless, boneless chicken and cook it and the shrimp in spicy satay sauce. A nice individual bowl of sauce made up of ketchup, soy sauce, and amontillado sherry with a hint of chilli.
Oh i enjoyed thinking of this!

I'd probably go with a Thai curry sauce.

@Ynotisay This, I also have. 😊

@Ynotisay This is what I did, I kept it simple (and saved the other suggestions for another time, after a grocery run). Thank you.

Freshly chopped parsley uncooked.
Sweet peas.
Fried onions,
Mushrooms,
Maybe some shredded carrots.
Perhaps some spices like garlic powder and basil flakes. Of course a bit of salt.

@DeWayfarer Nice. Don't forget garlic. LOTS of garlic.

@Grateful4you I do have a tendency to mention the cheaper items rather than the more expensive items.
Whole garlic for me is expensive. It spoils easily over a short period of time.
Garlic powder is very cheap, doesn't spoil and is easy to use, No chopping.
Yes, I would prefer whole garlic for taste. Money and time I can't ignore though. I don't have either.

Id hust grill some sweet peppers. That would be a good meal

I'd add other types of shellfish, a seafood sauce, pop the mix into ramekins to form it, knock that form out into a plate and build a salad around it with the seafood/rice mix as the centre.

I don't eat shrimps. But I have heard about a dish called shrimp fried rice. Add some veggies like carrots, french beans, green peas, onion and garlic.

If it were a Blue Apron meal my bet would be on zucchini squash, cherry tomatoes and capers.

I used to make shrimp and rice all the time. Sauté the shrimp with oil, garlic and hot sauce. Place over rice...
Morvoren · F
Some sweet chilli and garlic sauce for the prawns.
Fried kelp if you can get it, onion if not.
Peas or sweet corn.

@bowman81 A Créole kitchen has many of the same seasonings. 😉

@Dino11 I’m going to prepare it tomorrow, I think I’m going to give it a Thai spin.
