How is sugar packed cereal even legal to feed kids?

because if you can get kids addicted to the product that means $$$$$$

Because any attempt by government or health officials at principled leadership through reasoned advice is immediately dismissed by the conservative press as evidence of a "nanny state" 😷

It's bad enough in the UK where there are limits so less sugar, but from what I can tell in a free market like the States that would not go down well. I guess freedom means you can choose to damage your kids and it's no-one else's business, especially the government's.

Yeah, that is a healthy and nutrient rich breakfast for sure, hell no wonder kids are becoming lactose intolerant.
