Do You Know What He’s Doing?

This photo taken from a video in my city.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Every day thing here. And not just one or two.

This is even happening near two schools. A grade school being one of them. There's a encampment right between the two schools behind business buildings. Several homeless there. I never approach the encampment though. They get very abusive when anyone does.

Please bear in mind the population here isn't more than 32,000.

Definitely not a big city, where it's worse.

Bus stops are often where single homeless sleep. And kids often use the bus line.

This is only going to get worse. As long as affordable housing is ignored. There simply isn't any work accept minimum wage jobs, which you can't afford housing.

So you need to both increase the minimum wage as well as lower the cost of housing.

Not going to happen as long as the greed keeps happening.

@DeWayfarer bull there are Euro gypsies that were here begging at busy intersections last summer and they are coming over the southern borders along with Chinese and other nationalities
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti the biggest push is mostly from south America. You're talking about a minority in comparison. A few hundred is not hundreds of thousands from South America.

There's so few those of types they are able to hide in the masses. People from one area do stick together though.

The coyotes don't charge them any more or less to illegally cross the border. They don't care if you're a family or not.

Why single children are crossing as well. Taking advantage of child immigration laws. Children actually get priority and settled into homes. The kids then get harassed for the payment and leave their new homes.

Kids don't know about US laws. They only know they are being threatened.

BTW there's a documentary about this child immigration problem on Scripps news.

All of the kids are Hispanic and placed into Hispanic homes. The kids still run away. Because they are being threatened. This is happening in small towns in the Midwest.

Here there are no such kids! Kids are extremely controlled here! Police often call child protective services when they spot them.

The problem in the Midwest is lack of funding for child protective services!

This was documented on that show! The police can do nothing about the problem without a strong child protective service!

Now why is that? Greed!

Greed by the coyotes, greed by the politicians and greed by the corporations that refuse to pay taxes for such services.

Looks like he is homeless and making camp. The shopping cart and trash are a dead giveaway.

My guess was camping.

@Musicman they try camping out at night in local
Parks and keep
Police busy moving them out. The restrooms at parks are health hazards now… and it’s not safe to take children to the splash pads because they’ll walk right up and take a shower in them with the mothers standing there with the children… mothers collect their kids and leave quickly. A lady who volunteers at one shelter and also at one library wrote a letter to the newspaper warning residents that the main library was getting to the point that surfaces could be health hazards… tables, chairs, fountains, restrooms not to mention books and other materials. They shut the library down soon after saying they found black mold that had to be removed. This is a three- year old library that is two stories tall that can’t be used now. It replaced another library two blocks away that previously had all the carpeting removed and replaced with hard flooring due to a bedbug infestation. It is getting common to see that have signs on their restrooms saying that the restrooms are closed due to needing to be sanitized. The boy had to walk t
6 blocks before he found an open restroom to use after he missed the bus one afternoon

Philadelphia has more empty office buildings than partially occupied ones. Developers are discussing using them for vertical farming.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@jackjjackson Businesses are closing up in some of the worst areas here. I have seen some vacant for over a year now. The hospital announced they are consolidating with the west-side hospital and going to use the old hospital for “administrative offices” which seems like a ridiculous waste considering how much this hospital has been expanded in the last 3 decades. Homeless are coming into the ER and hanging out, have heard they can’t be turned away if they claim they have a medical issue that needs to be addressed. Have seen them hanging out in an entry way at the hospital higher than a kite within short distance of a Salvation Army shelter. My niece was a switchboard operator with her desk very near the door. She got MERSA infection from using the restroom there. Wonder how that happened?

Sounds like she should be on workers comp for a LONG time@cherokeepatti
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@jackjjackson she wasn’t though
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
Talking to an imaginary friend?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Bignakedguy Nope, he’s polishing his pipe (shown in the far right of the photos). Sitting there polishing it with a rag. He’s attacked several people here with it. Caused one man to need multiple staples in his scalp. The police let him loose. I believe I saw him a couple days ago in the same vicinity of where this photo was taken, little further to the east of that intersection. This is the type of thing why I won’t let the boy walk home from high school in case he ever misses the bus and he has offered to. Told him to go Starbucks across the street from the school and wait for me to pick him up.
@cherokeepatti That is sad. To feel so afraid. If the man is a danger to himself or others, I think he can be placed into a psych unit. I do not know your particular laws. Otherwise stay clear of him.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion I stay clear of all of them. There is violence happening with them. Including inside of businesses etc. A preacher got beat up on a Sunday morning with the entire congregation as witnesses. A transient shot two homeless- couple years ago in the same area where this picture is, one died and that was two years ago. They’ll walk up to people and ask for money and threaten them when they don’t get it handed to them, at gas stations and even on the residents porches

Sitting on the couch in his living room. 🤭
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou and “Polishing his Pipe”…😂…
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou Saw the Pipe-Polisher again this afternoon after taking the boy to get his hair cut and coming back home. He was about 3 blocks south of that intersection in the photo. On a vacant lot next to the American Legion hut. With a folding table set up and stuff sitting on the table…looked like he was having a “garage sale” with things he probably stole from someone…and his shopping cart and other crap sitting next to him. I’ve never seen a garage sale on an empty lot. When I was driving to the hair salon saw two cops on foot about a mile away and believe they were doing patrols in the downtown area. They are hearing a lot these days from the citizens about the residents and business owners in the areas are dealing with. Makes me sad to see so many vacant businesses in the downtown area. Some have been vacant over a year and not sold or leased out. I’ve never seen that here in the nearly 60 years I’ve lived here.
start of a commune..

It's a cry for help. Does anyone really believe he wants to be doing what he's doing?
