The ones they sell here are just overly sweet and the middle parts have disgusting slimy texture like a snot. When they are ripe, of course, ones semi-ripe are astringent.They don't remind me of anything.
@Ducky I think it could also be the type of persimmon? I think I've only ever tried one type, but I've heard that there is a bunch of different ones out there
