He's set a new goal for me. He wants me to sit down and eat with the kids.

We have a routine. We cook dinner together. I make the kids plates. They sit to eat and I start cleaning up. Then when they are done eating I clean up the dishes I can't handle the mess. But he wants me to sit down and eat with them then clean up everything after we're all done. This is already giving me anxiety just thinking about it.

Think of it as a bonding time..eating and conversing with them. They will always remember and really enjoy it. 馃檪 And just take it step by step. Nothing will be dirty once everyone puts their dish in the sink and you clean up at that time. 馃尲

@Coralmist I do talk to them the whole time I'm cleaning up. Right now we don't have a dinner table so they eat at the breakfast bar. It has a sink built in it so I'm right there with them while I clean. I'm hoping when we move and have a dinning room this will help me sit and eat with them. Right now if I do sit down all I see is the dirty pans we cooked with and I can't focus on anything else but cleaning up

@Cigarguy101 Oh that would be so great when you have a table that will be away from the sink area. Then you can eat together and know that when you are all done, everything will be washed then. Thats awesome you do talk with them now too as well馃檪

You can try it just this once. Might actually enjoy it. Keep your mind busy asking questions of your kids. Talk about anything they might be interested in. Let them talk as much as they like. Time might fly and all three of you can do the dishes together.
Your kids will love it and seeing them glow, you, too will feel the same. That'll energise you for washing up later.

On a side note, start practicing to clean up simultaneously while cooking. Would help wind up faster.
Won't happen soon, but Rome too wasn't built in a day.
@Cigarguy101 Coz I Deliberately make it happen.
