I love almost forms of cooked potatoes. Lately I have baked potatoes two ways. One is scrubbing them and cutting them in half, brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with Lawry’s seasoning salt, black pepper and a bit of garlic powder. Bake in my glass-bowl convection oven till the tops are golden brown. The other way is to peel and slice them thinly. Place them overlapping a bit in a large pizza pan in circles. Bake till they start getting browned and serve with ketchup. I also make oven fries coated with olive oil and seasoned. I do like regular baked potatoes with various toppings but they take longer to cook so rarely have them that way.
@cherokeepatti Those sound like delicious ways to make them. For baked potato I just washe it, stick little holes with fork and microwave about five minutes. Still delicious.
I wouldn't say no to either one, but IMO, it depends what else I'm having. Baked potatoes go well with steaks, roast beef, pork chops. Mashed goes better with fried chicken or ham.
@soar2newhighs If I could grow chives I would have chives, butter and sour cream on them. Also add that to the mashed potatoes, it has a mouth-watering aroma.
