Very unusual. Or perhaps they pick up the bill next time, that’s what me and my friends do we take it in turns. Although maybe I’ll just pay the bill but I’ll never speak to him again if it’s a date and he asked me out first.
I find more and more women now expect the man to pay the bill because 'he asked her out' which to me is a purely 'transactional' approach to dating right there. It's a way for the woman to assess (a) the man's willingness to flaunt/prove his wealth and (b) demonstrate his willingness to 'invest' in someone straight off the bat.
Also women more and more expect men to fully plan the date (I guess that's acceptable in some situations) plus they require an *extravagant* first date at a fancy venue or a fancy 'experience' outing.
First dates are supposed to be simple, low to moderate budget, 'lets get to know each other a bit more' things.
I generally expect the person doing the asking out to offer to pay. I'm alright with splitting the check if the other person insists but if I am asking someone else out I am expecting to pay. If you can't afford the date, do not initiate! Or find something that doesn't require money, but good luck with that these days. Especially for first dates.
Yea may be they ask will you pay for my food tonight? And you say, sure can. let me buy some new clothes, make up and shoes and will go to your fav food place to pay for your fav meal. That's what I do ... Good dead done! God's happy
@BigGuy2 ewww but I guess there are lots of single mums in really bad situations. Funny as women will tend to not date a man with kids at home yet they expect men to just accept it if they do.
