I just read that they updated the definition of alcoholism to mean more than 4 drinks a day. I mostly have cooking wine topped off with water twice a day, really amounts to one drink. Why didn't they say this sooner?
Your an alcoholic if your suffering from your mind , body and spirit . Doesn't necessarily mean the quantity you drink . It's what it do to your mind body and spirit
@GrayJessie it helps you for awhile and then turn on you . If your spirit is fading away , then I'd look into it if its helping you or not . I'm sober 17 years myself and got through a lot and stayed sober through it all . Then thing about me drinking was that I ended up with no spirit and today my spirit is strong as ever and it had very little to do with me
Your an alchoholic if you have a problem with alchohol. Not if you drink regularly. I would say if theres something in your life you cannot do with out alchohol then you have a problem. Or if you cannot go without it for a length of time.
Alcoholic isn't really a medical term. The medical term is Alcohol Use Disorder and it ranges from mild to severe.
The definition of an alcoholic i.e severe AUD is someone who needs a drink first thing in the morning, can't limit their drinking, spend a lot of the time drunk, do dangerous things while and have withdrawals like DTs.
