Should there never be forgiveness for the ss guards in German concentration camps?

akindheart · 61-69, F
Leave revenge in the hands of the Lord. for me to judge them is wrong but i am human and i think they deserve far worse
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Harmony there are a few still left. i see it in the paper when they find them. i feel what they did to the Jews are beyond forgiveness. i leave that to the Lord.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Harmony If we dwell on all the wrongs that have happened throughout history there would be no time to thank God for everything we have and the things that have gone right for us. I prefer not to dwell on it.

@cherokeepatti How convenient?
Richard65 · M
I originally had a modicum of empathy for young SS recruits, as I imagined they'd been effectively brainwashed since childhood by a fascist regime and didn't have a properly developed moral code. I also imagined the punishment for refusing an order would be severe. I then saw a documentary that told of several young SS soldiers who outright refused to mistreat people and all that happened was that they were given temporary cleaning duties in the barracks. At that point, I realised these men had every opportunity to refuse orders and also possessed an inherent morality that told them something was wrong. If just one could refuse, then they all had the choice to refuse.

So no, these vermin deserve to be thrown in a hole for the rest of their sorry lives, no matter how old they are.

My grandma is Polish and survived nazi Germany,

She said that some (definitely not all) soldiers would let her dad sneak in food to the prisoners, didn't really want to be SS etc

But others were brutal, threatened to kill anyone sneaking in food,

But when the tables turned, the brutal ones were killed but the others were spared.

I don't know how true this is, I'm just going by the stories my grandma tells me

@Fishy Thank you for sharing this story
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Give it to God to judge them. It’ll be perfect.
Harmony · 31-35

@Harmony 🤔hard one to call really if you lost relatives at the hands of ss guards old wounds may run deep and hatred for them
Fishy · 36-40, F
Also Oskar Schindler?

I'm not sure if he was an actually SS thou? 🤔
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Fishy iirc he was just an industrialist that saved Jewish people. Not an actual SS officer.
Richard65 · M
@Fishy I think he was a Nazi Party member, which most German industrialists were. He had the badge on his lapel. Some joined it just to prevent retribution, suspicion or criticism, but they weren't really rabid Nazis.

There can't be many alive still - it's 78 years now since the end of WWII.
Lostpoet · M
All those people and kids never even did anything and they were tortured.
Rambler · 61-69, M

You give them a thumbs up every day in Texas. Europe pushes babies back into the sea to remain white.
This is one of those questions where you get blocked either way
