Indoor P E at school

In middle school our PE kit included black plimsolls. My mum got me a cheap pair with soles that marked the gym floor. I was immediately told to take my plimsolls and socks off and work in bare feet. My mum was pretty mad and never bought me shoes for PE again, so I had no choice but to go barefoot after that.

I have very narrow feet and I couldn't get plimsolls that fitted properly. I usually participated in bare feet and I was quite happy doing so, even when I was the only girl in the class without shoes 🙂

Indoors was bare feet, but I'm going back a few years now... It's probably all changed!

In secondary we had to do it in bare feet.

What are plimsolls?

Is this a common thing out there? I've never seen a school allow bare feet in any class. But this question pops up quite frequently.

Plimsolls usually but if you forgot your kit we still had to do it in bare feet

I once played basketball and forgot my plimo's, the skin on my feet all dragged to the heel. Will never do that again.🥴

The only rule was to not wear anything that would leave marks on the gymnasium floor.

Would depend some stuff mostly gum was barefoot but basketball and sprints etc was with plimsolls

We only had the one pair of shoes, they were good enough for everything.
