Indoor P E at school

@Hayleywg we had to wear plimsolls for the gym only you would be punished if seen outside of the gym with them on, bare feet only so you couldn't avoid gym by forgetting your kit i had to do gym in my knickers and a tee several times whe i forgot my kit

@RebeccaG yes bare feet and gaping jumbo knickers in heavy cotton awful bloody thing usually navy or bottle green once washed only the waist fitted

@RebeccaG ours were part of the uniform not just for gym i got caught out a couple of times not wearing them but using my own found out in the changing rooms

@Hayleywg yes and so much cooler and fresher than those bloody granny pants

@cecile I'm a boarder, so can't really forget my kit, but sometimes the younger day girls do and have to take part in their underwear. We do all indoor activities in bare feet anyway.

@cecile We also had to do PE in our knickers if we forgot our kits. It helped you to remember the next time 😳

@lizzielost how clean was the gym floor?

@Hayleywg it was very clean. They were pretty mad when I marked it with my plimsol!s 😕

@lizzielost i remember the smell of the polish on those wooden floors, if you went in the gym with shoes you got the pump/trainer on your backside ( we used to call plimsolls pumps ?? )

@cecile Ouch! I remember the smell of polish too. The caretaker had a machine which he used to clean and buff the floor each weekend. It was really nice to go barefoot on it after that 🙂
