This hurts. When you see things like this it makes it hard to not feel angry.
A system that's set up to oppress which only filters down.
I get that some of these laws are old. But there needs to be a team looking at these and redesigning them because they are not good for the society that lives under them.
A country that houses a race has a duty of care to them.
We are no longer people of colour, but people of this society.

There are some things in the video that I did not know of, before. As disturbing as it is, I'm glad you shared it.

A huge portion would be doing this because they claim to want safety. They're letting their fears get the best of them. And then fear breeds fear. Passed down and disseminated through others around them. Several religious groups do this same tactic. Create the fear, then provide the 'solution' to the thing they created. It works in sales and other aspects of life.

I was recently a victim of some sort discrimination by a realtor (I happen to be on Long Island…just like the video). I got kicked out of an open house.

Racism is corrosive and needs to be challenged at all levels and in all contexts. People are good at packaging it up and associating it with vivid "monsters" like Hitler. But Hitler only succeeded because prejudice was endemic in German society.
So Level 1 racism is the worst of all because it exists in greatest volume and creates the seedbed of social division and mistrust. It needs to be challenged wherever it appears and called out for what it is . . no matter how socially and politically uncomfortable that may make us feel.

@SunshineGirl Agreed.

Much of this is about capitalism. Capitalism is racist on all races.
Take China as a example. They actually have the same problems. Just different types of races.
Yeah China has capitalism in its wealthiest classes. They have the worlds highest trade surplus. That's capitalism.

We are currently deep into Levels 4 and 5, "the enforcer" and "the uniform." This is where the government decides that organizing for equal rights is a form of "terrorism" and therefore deploys its prosecutors, cops, and others with legal authority to prevent such organizing and demonstrations. That's the purpose of tRump sending the national guard to blue cities. Crime is actually falling; there is no emergency; just anti-tRump demonstrations.
OK, we're also seeing level 6, "the architect," where cruelty becomes policy, tRump is currently implementing that against anyone who appears hispanic. Level 7, domestic terrorism, is also on the horizon.

White people 🐻❄🤍 are every level of racism?
Isn't this video perpetuating racism and hatred?
I understand that it's trying to prove a point in an entertaining way, but I'm white and I don't think I fit any of those stereotypes.

@bijouxbroussard I got to be honest it was just my impulse reaction after just seeing the image and watching the first fifteen seconds of the video. I noticed that everyone in the picture is a stereotypical white person. I agree with the message it's just the way it's done that I think as a Caucasian it puts me on the defensive. I wasn't saying the message is wrong I was just saying all white people aren't like that.
bijouxbroussard · F
@Lostpoet Of course not. But this is more about the systemic racism that exists, who is primarily in charge, who can successfully weaponize law enforcement because they are more likely to be believed.
This is a small example that I can relate: my sister accidentally locked herself out of her house, and was sitting on her steps waiting for her husband to get home from work. Someone new to the neighborhood called the police. My sister worked for the school district as a counselor, has no criminal record, but her purse was in the house (with her id, keys and phone). She explained what happened but the police still wanted to take her in. Her next door neighbor and friend (white) came running out in her robe, demanding to know what the police were doing. She vouched for my sister and the police let her go.
My sister appreciated the help, but she couldn’t help noticing that the neighbor didn’t have any id to show, either—yet the police took her word without question.

@bijouxbroussard wow i am so sorry that this happened to your sister. It's so sickening.

Very interesting

Those 2 babies sitting by themselves in the lunchroom in the corner almost brought me to tears. It reminds me of all those videos where white kids get hugs and they get passed over. It makes me sick to my stomach. Children are innocent.

Ageism is the scourge of the UK though.

@bijouxbroussard So sad, I was first knocked of the path at forty six. And that was in Brighton which is supposed to be vibrant cosmopolitan.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@peterlee Could you explain this further?
peterlee · M
@SunshineGirl Wait until I’ve read Torsten Bells
Great Britain? in October.
It will help me understand the issues better, and the solutions that he attempts , targeting the elderly.
A good introduction to Brighton is of course Brighton Rock, by Graham Greene. It has not changed much.

S is it true that all racists are men and all men are racists ?
Captain · 61-69, M
@Mamapolo2016 Yes there is an expression “greedy wants more wants all”. Maybe I feel annoyed because not being rich I dont want more wantr all and I’m just being branded alongside Cameron and Sunak, Sugar and Branson, Musk and Trump.
Mamapolo2016 · F
@Captain I understand your feelings. Sometimes I feel the same. But there is a vast allowing it, the iceberg below the water, that we bear responsibility for. We might not tell racist stories or laugh at them. But for the most part, we don’t say anything because it would be so awkward. That is tacit acceptance. We are enablers.
Captain · 61-69, M
@Mamapolo2016 `oh yes we do have to speak out every time we see a contradiction or inaccuracy, but as a trainee teacher I am being taught how to do that with clever questions, not conflict inducing statements

@ChipmunkErnie Bottom line, you judged the post without really seeing it.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard I did NOT judge the post -- as I have said repeatedly now -- I commented on the seeming racism of the one bloody photo used to entice people to view it. I never said a thing about the video or it's content, I commented ONLY on that one collage of images. Why is that so hard to understand?? The video had NOTHING to do with my observation.
