Electric trains (and diesel electric trains) have been around for over 100 years.

the Italians invented one so efficient it doesn't even need to be charged. its called the rozini downhill

Electric vehicles have been around a lot longer then that. But their range has always been an issue.

@samueltyler2 Nicola Tesla had found a way to generate free energy and to charge electric cars as they're on the road... But his invention patents were bought by some oil millionaire and was never put to use... Or so the story goes...
I read somewhere (Couldn't find it on google just now) that New Zealand had been using electric vans to move goods around the city at night for 90 years.. 🤷‍♂

@Thevy29 most golf courses, in my personal experience, have always used electric carts. I have never played, and will never play, a tRump course. I do wonder though what they use.

Just did a quick Google. As if we didn't know he is a hypocrite

@Thevy29 "Free" energy? Really? It has to be paid for somehow.

There are any number of stories about oil companies buying inventions that supposedly threatened them, but I take them with a healthy helping of NaCl. A lot of those alleged "inventions" either re-hashed old, obsolete ideas or simply ignored basic physics.

Eatley-morning milk deliveries to homes using small electric vans were common in the UK until very recently, but they were likely killed by supermarket competition and frankly, thefts from doorsteps.

Beofre WW1, London allowed battery-electric cars on the roads through the city's Royal Parks, but banned the new-fangled, petroleum-spirit fuelled ones from them on noise and smell grounds.

LOL!

Actually there were many REAL battery-powered cars and light lorries more than 100 years ago, on the streets of many European and US cities.
