Iraq.
More so than Vietnam. Vietnam was a proxy war, but it didn’t pretend to be anything else. It was actually one of the times we were most transparent about what we were doing; it was just a failure. Iraq was founded on a deliberate deception. The media and both parties were completely in on it, and many of the American people bought it too.

@NativePortlander1970 Yes, every war is an enrichment opportunity for military contractors. Hence why Afghanistan lasted so long and why many wanted it to continue indefinitely.

@ProfessorPlum77 Thank you, I had many classmates that were kids of Vietnam vets, and many classmates that were hippy kids, they fought constantly.
