Nigel Farage "goes on strike"

Announces that he will no longer attend Prime Minister's question time and sat in the press gallery to protest against the "most unrepresentative parliament ever".

The cause of his complaint? Despite his funny little sidekick Richard Tice bobbing up and down to catch the Speaker's attention, Reform UK are rarely called upon to ask a question. The reason being that they hold just 5 seats in the House of Commons. Out of 650.

But they do have a very popular TikTok account, which in Farage's eyes counts for more than parliamentary representation.

It's a good job that he announced he was going on strike on national TV as his Clacton-on-Sea constituents probably would not have noticed the difference otherwise.

The Caerphilly candidate who narrowly lost to Plaid Cymru who is one of Nigel Farage's rising stars has been seen crying hear today in Caerphilly.

@senghenydd Bless. He'll be even more upset when Nathan Gill goes to prison.

@SunshineGirl I don't think he could get anymore upset than he is now, no doubt he'll be back there in six months time contesting Caerphilly again, and we'll have another laugh.

I don't think he's looking for validation as an independent so much as 'wanting' to be seen as a potential Conservative Party leader in waiting.

Doing (or getting away with) this 'spoilt brat' routine. Being seen as the MOST right-wing. The MOST 'patriotic'. The MOST outspoken on issues that may or may not exist in a right-wingers 'reality' (most of them don't in everybody else's) explains his 'poor me' playing at politics

Good. He needs to sit down and be quiet. Hope he stays on strike.

He'll probably be spending more time in Clacton 🙄

Unfortunately he is probably right about Parliament being unrepresentative.

@ninalanyon British Politics needed a Nigel Farage it was so boring before, there's nothing like good opposition parties to poke fun at governments.

@ninalanyon It's not ideal, but the same rules apply to every party. The Lib Dems managed to get their largest number of seats ever through a reputation for competent local government, focusing limited resources on their heartlands, and cooperating with other parties.

Isn't he the worst attendance of any sitting mp?

Jesus the guys a total fraud.
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl He's found that governing isn't easy, whining is. 😅
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@ineedadrink He's a master at that. Campaigns to take the UK out of Europe, then when that damages GDP and makes it more difficult to secure national borders, blames others for not doing Brexit right.
@KatyO83 Sitting in the public gallery of the HoC doesn't count as attending the House either.

He would fit into American politics. trump would probably give him whatever job he would be unqualified for.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Crazywaterspring He spends more time sucking up to his "good friend" Trump than he does in his own constituency. His party's policies are a lazy re-hash of MAGA . . which is an odd look for a supposed nationalist.
