I don't think he's looking for validation as an independent so much as 'wanting' to be seen as a potential Conservative Party leader in waiting.

@Picklebobble2 I listen to all Politicans and their Manifestos we are being over-run with people coming into our country from abroad we can accept people who prove they have a well-founded fear of being persecuted back in their own countries for reasons of Religion, Nationality, Political Opinion, or membership in a particular group.

Forget detention centres or immigration centres at sea. (Currently propsed) Just put naval gun boats within the 12 mile start of the accepted border with the order destroy anything that comes within it.

I was part of a group a few years ago who supported Asylum Seekers I have to say I think we were taken advantage of, we have a problem some of them are illegal and should be returned to their home countries only we aren't doing that.
