He invited Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Ukraine to discuss peace in Ukraine. For whatever reason he didn't invite Canada who had just pledged $2.8 Billion to Ukraine nor did he invite Russia. Hmmmm
I am so disgusted with Trump. Did you see Zelensky's pathetic reception upon his arrival there was only an American liason to Ukraine and a few reporters there. The man is a sitting president and deserves respect idc what country he is from. Trump literally rolled out the red carpet for Putin and waited on the Tarmac like a little puppy for Vladimir smh I found this so disrespectful.
@Khenpal1 Yeah that number is wildly low. The million or more that are in Canada are not classed as refugees. The ones in the US are not classed as refugees. The ones in Germany are not classed as refugees.
@AdmiralPrune Canada wants to be a boy scout. When Libya happened our PM sent a few of our ageing CF 18s to join the battle. When the war in Kosovo took place there was Canada. Loyal little boy scout. As for Britain and the US I honestly don't know who is leading whom into war.
@hippyjoe1955 you seem to have a very low opinion of your own country. Wouldn't you be happier south of the border? Of course, I use the word 'happier' in the loosest possible sense.
@SpudMuffin Many years ago when I was an officer in Her Majesties Canadian Armed Forces I was sitting in the mess chatting with the Base Commander. Colonel Brown was the name I knew him by. I was a newly promoted captain when he asked if he could join me in a drink. He bought by the way. We sipped our Canadian Whiskey and talked about the past and the future. Into our second glass he looked at me and asked me. "What benefit did Alberta gain by being part of Canada". I kind of stuttered and stammered. Not too many years ago the CAF had been sent into Quebec to put down the FLQ crisis and that raised a lot of alarms in the CAF so I was not sure how to answer him. Well that and the fact I couldn't think of any benefit. I kind of grinned and said I would have to think about it. Colonel Brown looked at me and told me to be honest. Again I kind of stuttered around and finally he cut me off. "So you can't think of one", he said. "Neither can I" Here was a four stripe Colonel a former fighter pilot who had flown spitfires in WW!! and commanded the training squadron who had taught the Luftwaffe to fly again telling me that Alberta had no net benefit for being in Canada. I often think back on that conversation and ask that question. I still can't answer it.
