We're back at the Cold War era - Warsaw Pact currencies were essentially non-transferable to "hard currency", or only a very limited volume to stop de-valuating these "soft currencies" to oblivion. This limits trade between the two blocks to the minimum, while today there is a "3rd party", China. Still, we don't see any large volume of trades appearing in that direction either. where can you trade rubles? Ebay, you can sell them as collectables 😂People love saying the ruble is doing fine. Well the Russians had to raise their interest rates to 20% and had to pass laws preventing Russians from selling Rubles..
