I respect Qatar, they gave the world Al jezeera which is often more objective than many western media and also gave us Qatar airway, one of the best airlines in the world. but they were threatened by Saudi Arabia because of al jezeera and they kept their focus and kept doing what they do. I would love to visit Qatar ( was there only temporarily while going from Canada to Thailand) but I wouldn't move there because I have no trust in Saudi Arabia and one day they could just decide to invade Qatar or something.

It's too hot in the late spring-early fall (well, those seasons in the rest of the world), so probably not.

Is that in the Northern Territory of Australia?
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@Thevy29 🤣 No, it is not in the Northern Territory of Australia or anywhere near the continent. Qatar borders Saudi Arabia - ultra Islamic conservative country under Sharia Law. It is also the richest country in the world - per capita.

@LoveTriumphsOverHate It is not an ultra conservative country. Alcohol is allowed, all religions are allowed, women are not required to cover up, and we have a couple of bases in there. They built so many luxury hotels that they can’t fill, so US officers used to get stats at these resorts at Qatar’s expense.
They put me up once at the Ritz for a few weeks, in a suite with multiple bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, my own sauna and steam room, with my own chauffeur and assistant, at their expense and the assistant would pick up my tab whenever I ate outside the Ritz. Only thing they did not cover was alcohol.
But the whole place does not feel real. Kind of Las Vegas, without the gambling and shows. Also a desert.

Not likely. In Singapore it's hot as balls but every other day we get a fuck ton of rain. Qatar is a desert with a very significant average rainfall of what... half an mm every 5 centuries?

LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@REMsleep Why not?

@LoveTriumphsOverHate I know alot about Islam thru interfaith studies and dialouge with close Muslim friends.
I would have no issues visiting for a certain length of time but their society presents conditions for me that I cannot live under.
In middle east also blacks are 3rd class citizens more than in the USA by miles.
Also I dislike that weather.
I would love to vist for a week.
