Just move to anywhere else and problem solved. This is one of the reasons I want to move to canada 😎
@unregisteredhypercam4 I am in Canada. The pot is always Greener on the other side I guess.

And all those items you suggested placing the THC in are diabetic people problems too.
How about simply proving the THC oil to those that need it?
I never smoked it or smoked anything and hate the smell of smoke but once allowed and then revoked like alcohol was during prohibition only the criminal's profit. Once legalized then made illegal again is where you cause serious social and legal issues.
Sincerely a non-smoking anything person!

I would be in favour of totally decriminalisng it... except there are places i already cant go out in public because I'm constantly gagging. And for that alone it should carry life imprisonment. Ugh
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
I am not in favour of banning things. It just sends them underground. Instead, random drug and alcohol tests , at work or while in charge of a vehicle, with instant lost of license or employment, without appeal for a confirmed reading works for me. Make people responsible for their choices..And lets start with the politicians, and the Law enforcement...😷

what you're really after is not the banning of smoking of it (or smoking anything else at all, like tobacco), but the smoking of it specifically in public places ... and smoking in public places is already a commonplace ban ... you can basically come closer to forcing the smoking into people's own homes and keeping it out of everyone else's nostrils
you'll never be able to ENFORCE an outright ban, on pratically anything short of private ownership of nuclear weapons (I'm not even sure how perfectly gun bans work in countries that have them, even though I'd support a gun ban in the US ... except when you need to shoot the MAGA ICE agent who wants to shoot you for no effing reason, maybe us libs do actually need guns, I dunno)
I'd be more interested in regulating where pot can be sourced, like this is a plant originating in central Asia, it makes zero sense to grow it anywhere in the US (it sure AF doesn't make any sense to grow in NorCal redwood forests), it is a thirsty non-native species that is bad for the environment in North America, and it is epically stupid to grow it indoors with a high electrical / carbon footprint just for the sake of legalizing it (see states like Washington which take this route) ... this is a plant that needs to be grown outdoors in a climate with nots of rain where it is not displacing native species or drawing away groundwater from native species ... so basically force people in the US to buy pot imported from Asia, and require it to be certified that Asian pot plantations didn't have to clear e.g. orangutan habitat in order to exist, and dismantle the domestic commercial grow ops that have sprouted up in states where it's been legalized
I mean pot can very much be legal to consume in the US, but it can also be treated very much as the highly non-essential plant that it is (e.g., it ain't food, it ain't needed for survival, and bubble burst, UCSF research is showing that it does indeed have negative health effects, regardless of the method of ingesting it), so it doesn't even have to be affordable to be legal
to actually make Earth pristine and cleanse it of all negative human behaviors (e.g., litering is already illegal, but you'll always see cigarette butts out in the environment, because smokers are often shitty entitled people who think their litter is a magic exception, and even movies and tv continue to normalize smoking and tossing butts onto the ground), you'll need to find a way to make the entire human species completely extinct, forever, as far too many negative entitlements are completely normalized at a collective level

@badminton Right now they aren't chasing violent criminals or robbers so no difference. Just another revenue stream like speeding tickets.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@badminton Yeah I mean there are probably more people that smoke 420 than people who smoke tobacco.
I do not even "partake" but I say just make it legal everywhere. Maybe with the same restrictions as alcohol as far as 21 and over, don't smoke and drive, don't show up to work stoned etc, but really if someone wants to h*t the peace pipe, no harm.

@HoeBag I don't mind that they want to scramble their brains every day, that isn't the issue, the issue is that smoking pot stinks, and it isn't a localized stink, the stink travels for blocks. It is disgusting and bad for everyones health. If they want to scramble their brains find ways they can do it that doesn't bring the general population into it as well.
De-Stinkify brain scrambling narcotics.

Are you familiar with Prohibition in the U.S. ? Making something illegal tends to drive it underground deregulate it and put it under the control of criminals.
Probably not the outcome you want, long term.

@bijouxbroussard What it might do though is force the people selling it to rethink it, maybe a franken pot that doesn't stink. The stuff is already mixed with skunk, maybe they just need to change the animal it was grafted with. ;)
bijouxbroussard · F
@MisterBander There’s actually already pot that doesn’t smell bad. I have a friend who’s a grower up North. I don’t smoke anything, but I have smelled that, and it’s really different from the skunk variety.
@bijouxbroussard Oooo.. so all that is needed is to make that the only smokable kind and the skunk stuff illegal. :)

“… kills millions of people.”
He said…
Good God man.
Lighten up!
I don’t smoke or use any cannabis, but don’t you think we got better things to worry about?
Geeze, get a clue and advocate for something more worthwhile.
Like the Epstein class and what they’re up to.
Like the US government and its denial to do what 77% of other countries do, and fund healthcare for its taxpayers.
Maybe rally against genocide and war.
But nope, you got this pot thing and you’re on it, as if it will save “millions”
Hahahahahahhahahaha

I was in Montreal and the smell of pot almost on every corner was horrible

Freedom means being able to do whatever you want with your own body.
I hate when people pretend that they like the smell too. No you dont.
romell · 51-55, M
What will happen to pete hegseth then
@romell Does he regularly organize mass smoke-in's or something?

Kills millions?
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
There are no specific statistics on deaths directly attributed to inhaling marijuana smoke. However, marijuana smoke contains harmful chemicals similar to those found in tobacco smoke, which can lead to serious lung health issues over time.
More than 8 million people die prematurely each year due to tobacco use, with the majority of these deaths resulting from smoking. This includes approximately 7 million deaths from direct tobacco use and around 1.3 million non-smokers who die from exposure to second-hand smoke.

Make farting illegal too!
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@ScreamingFox Except in restrooms. Although, public restrooms are acoustically designed to amplify f4rts. 😬
@ScreamingFox You can't smell a fart from two blocks away
