Make smoking pot illegal

I am not suggesting getting rid of pot. That has been proven impossible, but that SMELL... Also the long term issues associated to smoking is well known, kills millions of people. Why not make smoking pot illegal, but ingesting THC in other ways legal?
Have a brownie, or eat a cookie, or put it in a candy bar or something. Anything that doesn't cause second hand <anything>.
If smoking pot was illegal, it would be easy to relay to the police.. impossible to hide.. easy to ticket.

Are you familiar with Prohibition in the U.S. ? Making something illegal tends to drive it underground deregulate it and put it under the control of criminals.

Probably not the outcome you want, long term.
@bijouxbroussard But the thing with pot is, it is easy to see who is smoking it.. like ringing a very loud church bell. You can smell it from blocks away. Criminals already sell this stuff, they actually benefited from it become legal in Canada. Now they can openly walk around with it and sell it. Its not like pot has a barcode on it to say where it came from.
Just trying to think of ways to get rid of the stink. People around them shouldn't need to hold their breath. I don't care if a pothead OD's on the stuff, just so long as the rest of us don't get involved. :)
@MisterBander Then, you can look at how cigarettes have been regulated, because there’s a similar issue.

When I first entered the workplace in the 70s, people were able to smoke at their desks, and we all smelled like smoke 🤢. Eventually they were moved into separate "smoking rooms", and finally they had to go outside if they wanted to smoke—no exceptions. People standing outside in rainstorms got to decide just how badly they needed that cig.

Nowadays folks will have to be trained to be more considerate with pot smoke, maybe with fines, etc. the way smoking cigarettes in non-smoking areas can get you cited. Making pot illegal again won’t do that.
@bijouxbroussard What it might do though is force the people selling it to rethink it, maybe a franken pot that doesn't stink. The stuff is already mixed with skunk, maybe they just need to change the animal it was grafted with. ;)
@MisterBander There’s actually already pot that doesn’t smell bad. I have a friend who’s a grower up North. I don’t smoke anything, but I have smelled that, and it’s really different from the skunk variety.
@bijouxbroussard Oooo.. so all that is needed is to make that the only smokable kind and the skunk stuff illegal. :)
