Probably depends on what you're prepared to put up with that's 'different' rather than where you imagine you see yourself living.
As a Brit. the 'easy' answer is places that 'recognise' you.
Canada; New Zealand; Australia; America etc.
My brother is in Spain and he says the government there puts endless barriers in front of you from immigration to working rules to earning rules to healthcare access... being part of the EU i suspect they try and make sure Brits. don't settle.
Like every other immigrant, the country wants your money but doesn't want to give you too many rights.

If I had to leave the US for some reason, I'd pick New Zealand. It's a beautiful, diverse country.
Docdon23 · M
Hmmm--Italy or France, perhaps, although I have not been to Scandanavia...the other factor to consider would be language--if i did not speak the native language it would be tougher...but I do love Italy and Paris...and Nice...
Ireland, I heard the people are friendly and it’s beautiful there
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I know 😉
@TheDeathOCuHullainn aren’t we all 🤣

What does it mean could? Because I can 😅 just not with the standard of living I'd like to have. I wouldn't mind a nice house on a Spanish east coast or Côte d'Azur, I tell you.

1. Canada: language, people I know and I had lived in cold weather before. Though I might live in the Vancouver area.
2. Germany: language, relatives if they remember me and been there.
3. Mexico: language, relatives and been there.

Ireland because I'm mostly Irish.

I have fantasized living somewhere without venomous snakes. It would be wonderful to walk around outdoors in forests and wooded areas without having to stay on a wide trail or without having to look down all the time. I will never go into wooded areas around here in Oklahoma unless it’s in the wintertime.

Canada: I know the languages and have friends there.
The UK: I speak English, have friends and some relatives there.
France: I speak some French and have friends and relatives there.

Saudi Arabia. I hear they are laid back and open minded 🤷🏼♀
BridgeOvertroubledWaters · 61-69, M
@FreeSpirit1 could you survive without alcohol there ? Or , as a woman have to wear a scarf over your head whenever you're out?

Ireland or Scotland, because many of my ancestors were from there, and I have always been drawn to that direction.🙂

Switzerland probably or England maybe Japan. Peaceful countries strong culture good food ancient wisdom and all three have tribal heritage. Which is telling of their human descent/heritage. Drinking age of 18 makes a lot more sense too.

New Zealand or Iceland. They seem somewhat separate from the insanity of the rest of us. They seem like the closest I will get to Whoville. Also Denmark maybe. But those places are likely too good for someone like me
Northerner · 70-79, M
I cannot wait to live in Farage's UK . the sooner it happens the better.
Northerner · 70-79, M
@wishforthenight I won't have to look and listen to Starmer .the most hated PM this country has ever had.
wishforthenight · M
@Northerner He's not the most hated; he's not popular but he can turn things around. And if he can't others in the party like Andy Burnham most assuredly could. But you would still rather listen to Farage than, say, Sir Ed Davey? Or Zack Polanski
