@Crazywaterspring My Afro-Cuban mother-in-law (born in Havana, came to Florida in the 50s) once told me to "watch out" for white Cubans. She said many were just as racist as those southern "good old boys", and willing to go along with them, but then claiming "we can’t be racist—we’re [b]Latino[/b]". She said, "in [b]Cuba[/b], they were white—and they never let us forget it. They fled to the U.S. rather than risk losing that privilege."
@samueltyler2 @Crazywaterspring @bijouxbroussard I begin to suspect there is something to the theory that the human brain is made irritable and hateful by high temperatures.

@bijouxbroussard That is one reason I have lots of respect for Castro and company. They had a revolution for "reasons.". Washington has been punishing them for decades. Cuba keeps flipping off the US government. And i love it! You MIL certainly passed on tales of the shenanigans that upper class inflicted on everyone else.
