@XenonRush Yep, that's correct! I grew up in Tuscany and I can't understand dialects from the other regions! I have a friend from Lombardy and sometimes she would use words from her dialect, and I had to ask her the "translation"! When I speak Italian I tend to use the standard version, but sometimes (especially when I get angry or annoyed) I automatically switch to dialect.

@fanuc2013 Not in Italy, but in the USA by Italian-American families. I've never heard of it before today and that Italian article confirmed my suspects: it's a feast unknown in Italy because it's not celebrated there, but in the USA.

@XenonRush Oh yes! That school is in Old Town Alexandria and that is where I was born. 🙂 My dad was a teacher at Mt Vernon highschool. Their football team has to play the Titans every year. Even to this day. My dad taught at the time those players were playing.
