Jesus died so that we could do evil things to people and get away with it. I use to treat people kindly but now I let grace abound.

If we don't sin, he would have died for nothing .

Go, and sin no more.
@th3r0n I've heard Catholics argue faith through justification. It's the protestants who say faith alone is sufficient.

@RocktheHouse Your Pastor should not have sad that, if he did he is mistaken.

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:14-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:9-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:28-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬
You still gotta repent.. confess
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yes, I can steal from you and confess that I've done it, and it's okay. Grace is enough.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@RocktheHouse most definitely not, Bible verses incoming

FYI repent means turn away from doing it

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Aye aye aye. I get the feeling you do this for the fun of it. You make a good point, though, because some people live that way. They don't change and think God has them covered. Repentance requires true sorrow and a change of heart, meaning we change and become better. Not meaning we won't ever sin again, but we won't do that thing again but some things do take time to overcome, like addictions or habits.

lol thats not how it is supposed to be lol

Sin is our nature not our actions.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

now the way you word that is not strictly true and has been distorted maybe for the benefit of this question . yes jesus did die on the cross for our sins but not as you phrase it [rockthehouse]
Adstar · 56-60, M
Nope... People who use the grace of God as a license to sin do not have the right spirit..

The Atonement of the LORD Jesus is to cover us when,, because of our faulty human nature we sin and regret it and acknowledge it as sin.. Not as a ticket to sin all we want because we enjoy sinning..

Those who agree with the standards of God.. who believe the transgressions revealed by God are wrong to do.. They will try to avoid sinning and will regret their failings...

Repent - Turn and walk in a different direction.
Iwillwait · M
You know this whole statement is convoluted. 🤨
Yeah I've been told this many times in my life that it doesn't matter how "good" we try and be we are all equal sinners in the eyes of God and all we can do is pray for Grace. I'm not sure what the point of those commandments are but yes I say go nuts.
SW-User
