Do You Believe We're Living in The Last Days?

Second Timothy 3:1-5 says:

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

Do these conditions sound familiar to you today? Most definitely. The Bible predicted that these terrible times and conditions would exist in the time of the end. The question is how does one survive the end of the last days? I know, do you?

War on a large scale. Jesus foretold: "Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom." (Matthew 24:7)

Famine. Jesus foretold: "There will be food shortages." (Matthew 24:7)

Disease. According to Jesus, there would be pestilences or epidemics of "terrible diseases." (Luke 21:11)

Crime. Although crime has existed for centuries, Jesus foretold that in the last days, there would be an "increasing of lawlessness." (Matthew 24:12)

Ruining of the earth. (Revelation 11:18) foretold that mankind would be "ruining the earth." They would do so in many ways, not only through violent and corrupt actions but also by bringing harm to the environment.

Religious hypocrisy. In (2 Timothy 3:5), the Bible foretold that people would appear to worship God but would not truly live by his standards.

Breakdown of the family. In (2 Timothy 3:2, and 3), the Bible foretold that many people would have "no natural affection" for their family and that children would be "disobedient to parents."

Widespread apathy and ridicule. Jesus foretold that people in general would ignore the overwhelming evidence of the approaching end. (Matthew 24:37-39) More than that, (2 Peter 3:3, and 4) foretold that some would ridicule the evidence, dismissing it completely.

Many people are distressed by these critical times. They are concerned that society itself is deteriorating. Some even feat for the future of humanity. Meanwhile, others who are likewise distressed by world conditions have a hopeful outlook. They are convinced that God's Kingdom will soon take action to rid the world of its problems. (Daniel 2:44 | Revelation 21:3, and 4) They wait patiently for God to fulfill his promises, and they find comfort in the words of Jesus: "The one who has endured to the end will be saved." (Matthew 24:13 | Micah 7:7)

No I don’t. There’s no more death and destruction now then any other point in human history.

If people want to see signs, they’ll see them.
No I don't. People have made "End Times" claims in the year 999, year 1666, whenever a big comet showed up, and many other times. Predicting "Final Days" just seems to be human nature.

In 1806, a domesticated hen in Leeds, England, appeared to lay eggs inscribed with the message “Christ is coming.” Great numbers of people reportedly visited the hen and began to despair of the coming Judgment Day. It was soon discovered, however, that the eggs were not in fact prophetic messages but the work of their owner, who had been writing on the eggs in corrosive ink and reinserting them into the poor hen’s body.

Johannes Stöffler, a respected German mathematician and astrologer, predicted that a great flood would cover the world on February 25, 1524, when all of the known planets would be in alignment under Pisces, a water sign. Hundreds of pamphlets announcing the coming flood were issued and set in motion a general panic; Count von Iggleheim, a German nobleman, went so far as to build a three-story ark. Though there was light rain on the day of the predicted flood, no actual flooding materialized.

Here are several "End Times" predictions in the last decade that didn't come true:

@ElwoodBlues What's interesting about your reply is that none of those predictions were mentioned in the Bible. And the reason none of those predictions came to pass was because of human thinking and human reasoning. Every single prediction in the Bible up to this point concerning the terrible world conditions we see today has come true; is being fulfilled right before our eyes. How? Why? Reason being is because those predictions were inspired of God Himself. He inspired humble humans to write down His thoughts concerning the "last days". (2Timothy 3:1-5 and vs 13; Matthew 24:6-8; Luke 21:10).

Now, if those predictions are being fulfilled right now, that means we truly can have the confidence and faith that future predictions of better things to come WILL most DEFINITELY happen (Revelation 21:3-5, Psalm 37:19-11, Psalm 37:29, Acts 24:15, John 11:11-45).

@ElwoodBlues 2 Peter 3:

“8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. A New Heaven and Earth
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:8, NASB)”

What seems like slow is God being patient and wanting all to come to repentance rather than perish. God keeps His promises.

War on a large scale What we have these days is NOTHING compared to WWI & WWII.
Famine Actually, no major famines happening these days. Big famines happened during Mao's "great leap forward" during the Korean war, but no end times.
Disease Covid is NOTHING compared to the great plagues of the Middle Ages. It's minor compared to the Spanish Flu that spread during WWI.
Crime. Nothing new about crime these days. In the US crime is down from the drug driven crime peaks of the 70s & 80s; probably true of Europe too.
Ruining of the earth Yeah, we're worse there, especially vis a vis CO2.
Religious hypocrisy I don't know if it's always been this bad or not.
Breakdown of the family In many parts of the world, e.g. China & India, families are stronger than ever.

Yes I believe we're seconds from the return of the Messiah. All the things mentioned in the scripture above I've seen people do. People are okay with doing wrong and even advising other people to take the same path. I just wanna go home at this point. We got to hold onto our identity in Christ and do what he sent us to do before his return so people don't end up in the lake of fire for all eternity.

Absolutely we are.
No-one survives it, on earth. Everything will be obliterated.
@SW-User Not according to the Bible (Revelation 7:14). There will be millions that will survive the Great Tribulation and Armageddon. Also the Bible says the righteous meek one will possess and live on the EARTH 🌍 forever.

@seotelkniwt Don't know what bible or version or interpretation you are referring to, but nope. This earth will be destroyed. Only the soul lives on in a NEW heaven and earth. A select few.
Any prophecies made in that book are only fulfilled in that book. No independent confirmation. Ever.
@BlueSkyKing Many prophecies that were inspired of God in the Bible are unfolding right before our eyes now. Many individuals don't realize that all these terrible things going on in their life and in the world were foretold and predicted to happen.
I absolutely believe we are in the last days! And if you believe it too, you are wise.
