Do You Believe We're Living in The Last Days?

Second Timothy 3:1-5 says:

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

Do these conditions sound familiar to you today? Most definitely. The Bible predicted that these terrible times and conditions would exist in the time of the end. The question is how does one survive the end of the last days? I know, do you?

No I don't. People have made "End Times" claims in the year 999, year 1666, whenever a big comet showed up, and many other times. Predicting "Final Days" just seems to be human nature.

In 1806, a domesticated hen in Leeds, England, appeared to lay eggs inscribed with the message “Christ is coming.” Great numbers of people reportedly visited the hen and began to despair of the coming Judgment Day. It was soon discovered, however, that the eggs were not in fact prophetic messages but the work of their owner, who had been writing on the eggs in corrosive ink and reinserting them into the poor hen’s body.

Johannes Stöffler, a respected German mathematician and astrologer, predicted that a great flood would cover the world on February 25, 1524, when all of the known planets would be in alignment under Pisces, a water sign. Hundreds of pamphlets announcing the coming flood were issued and set in motion a general panic; Count von Iggleheim, a German nobleman, went so far as to build a three-story ark. Though there was light rain on the day of the predicted flood, no actual flooding materialized.

Here are several "End Times" predictions in the last decade that didn't come true:

@ElwoodBlues What's interesting about your reply is that none of those predictions were mentioned in the Bible. And the reason none of those predictions came to pass was because of human thinking and human reasoning. Every single prediction in the Bible up to this point concerning the terrible world conditions we see today has come true; is being fulfilled right before our eyes. How? Why? Reason being is because those predictions were inspired of God Himself. He inspired humble humans to write down His thoughts concerning the "last days". (2Timothy 3:1-5 and vs 13; Matthew 24:6-8; Luke 21:10).

Now, if those predictions are being fulfilled right now, that means we truly can have the confidence and faith that future predictions of better things to come WILL most DEFINITELY happen (Revelation 21:3-5, Psalm 37:19-11, Psalm 37:29, Acts 24:15, John 11:11-45).

@ElwoodBlues 2 Peter 3:

“8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. A New Heaven and Earth
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:8, NASB)”

What seems like slow is God being patient and wanting all to come to repentance rather than perish. God keeps His promises.

War on a large scale What we have these days is NOTHING compared to WWI & WWII.
Famine Actually, no major famines happening these days. Big famines happened during Mao's "great leap forward" during the Korean war, but no end times.
Disease Covid is NOTHING compared to the great plagues of the Middle Ages. It's minor compared to the Spanish Flu that spread during WWI.
Crime. Nothing new about crime these days. In the US crime is down from the drug driven crime peaks of the 70s & 80s; probably true of Europe too.
Ruining of the earth Yeah, we're worse there, especially vis a vis CO2.
Religious hypocrisy I don't know if it's always been this bad or not.
Breakdown of the family In many parts of the world, e.g. China & India, families are stronger than ever.
