@SubstantialKick Dan...when has he EVER agreed with anyone at any time...he gets his jollies doing this. One day no one will take the bait and he'll slink off to torture people on another site...he must be a miserably unhappy creature

@Fernie I try to limit myself to one snarky comment at him a month. I can't always bite my tongue, it starts to hurt after awhile :p

@SarahAndSamantha 😂 I feel your pain!

I stand beside @SweetMae Not all Christians believe that way.

@Pinkstarburst Thank you! We shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
@SweetMae It seems so much more relevant in these current times. Love you my sweet sister.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Pinkstarburst It sure does. Love you too! 🤗

I am a Christian and I don't condemn anyone. I simply point out that according to scripture "neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God". If you want to inherit the kingdom of God then you have to stop doing that. If you don't want to inherit the kingdom then carry on. Don't think it is me condemning you.

The idea of not choosing the gay life is unproven. It defaults to not being responsible for personal choices.

They aren't true followers of Christ. Christ said, love your neighbor as you love yourself.

@wildbill83 tyey would have been stoned.., just trying to feel better about it by accusing us of judging... when I know I’m just believing the book...

@wildbill83 Um...there were no such thing as Christians in the Old Testament times.

so many Christians thinking they are doing the right thing but clueless to what the right thing actually is. Likely true of every religion. But something about all that hell and damnation really makes them foolish.
SW-User
@TwiddlerofThumbs was Jesus foolish? He said it! We just believe it.
It's in the Bible. But there are a lot of things that are in the Bible though that should not be believed and indeed aren't believed. It is fear that makes them cling to this.
@Pfuzylogic You said. You believe everything in the Bible. I know what's in the Bible having had to study it most of my life. You cannot be a moral person AND believe everything in the Bible.
Pfuzylogic · M
@RandomForest
You speak from a point of personal perspective. Morals are good but salvation is more than morals.

@Pfuzylogic You've strayed off topic. Modern Christians don't practice everything in the Bible. If they did they'd be arrested. Beliefs evolve.

Nice try with the religious bigotry . I am a Christian , no one in my church attacks the gay community . Some of our members are LGBTQ. No one cares about your sexual preference ... it’s not Christians you need to worry about . Now pink spiked hair and a lower lip gauge ? Yes they will probably give you the stink eye . Why are you threatened by Christians ? Why do you need to lie about christians and make claims that are not true ? You don’t see Christians posting that you need to read your gay hand book . The only harbinger of hate in your disgusting post is you .
Doomflower · 36-40, M
The bible is pretty explicit that being gay is not okay. Jesus never says it is ok or that any of the laws have changed. It's just that now you can apologize for breaking the rules instead of bothering to follow them and it's considered even stevens. Modern Christians do this with everything but make an exception for lgbtq stuff because...
LeopoldBloom · M
@Doomflower Jesus never said anything against LGBT, and the Centurion story is about his approval of a gay relationship. Jesus himself may have been gay.
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@LeopoldBloom mmm hmmmm. He also said that the law will not change until all has come to pass. There are alternative interpretations of the centurion story and Jesus's sexuality is never made clear in the Bible.
But you remind me of this.

Christians don’t hate gay people they just don’t condone it because the Bible says don’t associate with them. It also says God hates it. He loves all people but he hates all sin. His heart is opened to those who repent.

I am a Christian woman but in my view it is between you and God.
Each person alone can have a personal relationship with God because He loves us all.
It is the world who judges not the Lord in earthly form. The difference is in spirit and how you believe in Him as God our creator.
It is us who are of the flesh that judge, but we have no right too. That is all up to the Lord.
We condemn others as beings because that is how we evolved into masters of the earth, but in a different realm like believing in the Holy Spirit, that is how we come to believe in our Creator.
In the end, we will all face judgment, but man took it upon themselves to make that judgment for us.
It's how we believe in Him and how we come close to God that becomes our fate in the end.
Just believe in your creator whoever that is for you, whether it is God or mankind, you may find answers within His Word and the spirit that is within you.

I'm a Christian and I'm also very logical minded. If I praise a good God, I'm sure he's accepting of all of his children regardless of their sexual orientation and regardless of what the bible may say against gays. So I don't condemn any, I actually accept all. Because it wasn't their choice to be born the way they are and there isn't anything wrong with the way they are. Accept all is the moto for any real believer.

Remember that not all Christians are the same and some people are just passionate about their faith. I don't think Christians are trying to condemn anyone. The Christians you have met likely aren't Christians or they don't express their feelings properly.
Fernie · F
@butterfly1013 the close minded ones constantly condemn those who don't believe what they believe

Christians (and most everyone else) do not hate lgbtq and sometimes y people.
What we hate is having anything crammed down our throats and being told if we don’t like it then we’re bigots.
Personally I feel if it’s “perfectly normal” then why should anyone give a shit?

Most Christians I know aren’t hateful at all and are actually very loving and accepting towards them. But I also know a fair amount of people (mostly Catholics) who despise LGBT+ individuals, so idk. Their hate depends on a lot of different factors I guess

@Timezone you want everyone to keep quiet and not believe nor teach his word to suit your lifestyle? Oh that’s not how it works... you can reject his word and do as you want but don’t you dare call us haters for telling you whatv that book says. There’s no judging to it as far as I’m concerned... The Lord has already judged it to be an abomination to him. Don’t expect true believers to not believe to make you happy. Won’t happen for the true children of God... just won’t!
Carissimi · F
I disagree with your premise that Christians hate gays. That’s not true. In fact it’s an inflammatory statement meant to cast Christians as being hateful. Christians are like everyone else. There is good, bad, and in-between. Any group in society is the same. What they might “hate” is the political ideology that hides behind the pretense of LGBTQ...which does not support gay rights, unless you think as they do. They don’t accept anyone on the Left or Right, unless you go along with their narrative. So they pretend to be for gay rights, but only gays who tow the line of their ideology.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
The problem as I see it with Christianity is that there is no competent organized religion teaching it. It cherry picks verses. It loves the miracles and myths but avoids the actual teachings. It has also allowed the theology of fiction writers of the times before after Christ to have more say than things he actually did teach. Strip out Luke, John, Acts, and anything by Paul. There is and has been a lot of mysogeny, money, politics, and corruption in religion. So in reality there is no true "Christian" religion. It's all the "Church of What's happening Now".
Platoscave · F
They say they are Christian so just try to demonstrate forbearance when they goad you. They might catch on. And say informative things to them every chance you can... the rest will shake out as it will. Self respect is the cave-canary these days...got it, you can keep exploring, without it, better get safe first and take it from there...you know? I think bullies communicate good things about how powerful we are and why we should be able to rise to the occasions to prove restraint and maturity..and diplomacy.and when that doesn't work they get blocked and or flagged...

Because either Christianity is a cruel, bigoted and judgmental faith, and such Christians are observing it correctly—or—it’s a loving, benevolent and charitable faith and those who call themselves Christians but treat others unkindly are blaspheming.

@SW-User The Irony is, if Jesus were here today, half these people would be calling him a racist/nazi/white supremacist & demanding that HE conform to THEIR beliefs...
That's basically how mohammed/modern islam came to be... They didn't like Jesus, so they invented their own god and religion...

@wildbill83 Sadly you are correct. Some that possess the most worldly knowledge and the most cognitive people are bankrupt when it comes to the word of God. Just watch jeopardy and see how the most intellectuals don’t even know Bible stories that we teach our children much less the hard truths of God! Just because everyone else does something following current times or the crowd , does not make something right. If God says something is wrong I don’t care what any or everybody has to say about it. God is right! If God declared something wrong in Bible days, it is still wrong today. Remember how God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this abomination?? The Bible teaches us:
Galatians 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Fear, those who hate the most think they could be drawn into a world they think is sinister.
Its forbidden in the bible . Personally i dont hate them but my dad calls them perverts
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
I think the fanatics of any cause hurt their cause more than they help it.
It depends on the person. Cause the Bible also says I come not to be peace but a sword. So it depends on which parts of the Bible the person puts emphasis on. Evil people will find passages to quote as well.
But the way the Bible is taught, mostly through indoctrination, leads to no questioning. Add in some fear of going to hell and the people are stuck in a cycle of hate. Cause at least hate makes you feel stronger.

Why care? Those people are mentally ill. They are not taken that seriously anymore. They are losing their power, their hold on people...all cults eventually crash and burn
i'm not christian but maybe there are verses in the Bible that say trans or homo is forbidden. So basicly you'll burnt in hell because you break the rules. God loves who walk according to His rules

@PhoenixPhail As a Christian I know that in order to "Enter the Kingdom of Heaven" I have to give up fleshly desires and focus them in healthy and Godly ways. I didn't make the rules and I am not enforcing the rules I am simply reporting the rules. If you want to be gay or bi or trans then you certainly can do so. However if you do those things you can not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Your choice. Don't like the rules don't expect acceptance and encouragement.

@hippyjoe1955 I have no problem with what you believe. I'm glad you're happy following the rules of your religion.
