@Carver aggro - it was just a question. I’m trying to see why it makes a difference that the story is about now or 40 years ago - it’s not like a crime was actually committed - so what difference does it make. Does it make what he did less reprehensible?

@Benarro Well it's a pretty stupid question with an answer that should be obvious. Yes, what he said was something racist and he should feel remorse over and it's a good thing that he does. But it happened 40 years ago so the racist accusations don't make any sense. If he had said it last week or had exhibited more racist behavior over the years then the racist accusation would be fair. Do you get it now? Anything else you'd like me to explain for you?
