Sick of endless war around the world and our tax dollars being used on it?

America needs to wage an eminent domain war on the Military Industrial Complex making the US Army Corps Of Engineers the primary exclusive defense manufacturer for products of war.

The problem is that the military Industrial Complex in general is playing all sides of all fences from Russia to Ukraine to Israel and so forth. The Only thing the military Industrial Complex cares about is maintaining an endless state of war and conflict around the world as peace is bad for their bottom line.

A little more complicated than that. First, the Army Corps of Engineers has no expertise or experience in manufacturing. They are more about civil engineering of infrastructure needs for defense and in battle zones. Second, I presume that is why you mention taking over manufacturers by eminent domain. With the exception of NASA and the Dept. of Agriculture, government has a terrible record when it comes to innovation let alone keeping up with the advances others make in technology or science. Advancing military technology is a way to fund R&D research that leads to later consumer products for these companies, and that is true of NASA as well.

That said, something needs to be done to reign in their continual efforts to arm every country -- and every individual when you throw in the gun manufacturers controlling NRA . Our government not only is doing little to preclude that, it is actually egging them on by being a marketing tool for them in our gunboat diplomacy.

1. The U.S. needs a war powers act that prohibits the U.S. from sending its military forces to any foreign country unless congress passes a declaration of war.
2. Congress needs to enact an annual independent audit of pentagon spending.
3. There needs to be serious penalties for defense contractors who over charge, stealing the tax-payers money.
4. The U.S. needs the concept of a peace-time military budget, with limits on military spending, except if congress declares war. Military spending should be limited to about 1.5% of GDP in peacetime.

If one more jackass uses the term “military industrial complex” as if they are saying something profound, I’m going to puke.

“Endless wars” is another short cut term that signifies nothing.

@Bumbles Eisenhower was a jackass? He coined the term military industrial complex, and as a retired General and soon to be former President he warned us about them.
