Night shift was a lot less busy than day shift. (I was a nurse.) But when things did happen it was like 1000x worse because someone having a crisis at 3 am is just exhausting. It is also weird having to sleep during the day.

Night shift was torturous for me.
Only done it for 6 months. Was falling asleep operating a forklift.
Working 100 km out of town all week, drive back home after 6 days of 12 hour night shifts.
One time I fell asleep whilst driving, 100kmh, cruise control on.
Ran off road, hit a tree. Luckily I only broke my foot.
Never went back to that job.

Day shift: has 25 Carers, 8 Enrolled Nurses and 4 Registered Nurses on shift. Plus all the personnel in the office including that nitwit of a Manager.

Night Shift: has 5 Carers and 1 lazy Registered Nurse. So get ready to have a step count of 30,000 by the end of the shift.

And when there was Covid. Most Carers didn't even show up to Night shift. Even if they paid you the $10 extra an hour (They never did) it doesn't even cover for the 3 weeks off work without pay you'll incur if you caught Covid. So I got stuck a few times with only 2 of Carers, 1 Lazy RN against 120 sick patients. and no help from management.

It gets pretty hard sleeping well and consistently and on days off.

I worked night shift for two years and it really sucks. I have a really hard time sleeping in the day, so basically, I turn into a zombie at night.

I was fine at work, but could never get my sleep schedule right and the days at home sucked.

@MyNameIsHurl That's correct. I watched so many movies when I worked the night shift.
