Yes. A good hairstylist/hairdresser needs to be creative and have sense for aesthetics because she or he needs to come up with the right kind of hairstyle for their clients. There are also those special kinds of hairstylists doing crazy colorful hairdos and you can't say that what they do isn't creative.

@CrazyMusicLover Then there's Enzo, that takes a fixed €12 rigorously in cash / no-receipt, will nod at you explaining how you want your hair cut only to give you the haircut he wants instead, and then compliments himself once the job is done ✅

I would agree, judging by some haircuts I’ve had.

Not so much, not what my idea of true creativity is. Doesn't really come from original thought, it's mostly just repeated or copied styles.

@Magenta well that wasn't even the question. So yeah.
Then I guess Edward Scissorhands is the only one that could be labeled as such.

If he actually existed.

Why wouldn't it be?
It's not like a hairstylist/barber, using a cookie-cutter for their job. Yes, they do have to do run-of-the-mill basic cuts, but it does take creative skills for the most part. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a need for cosmetology schooling.

Only if the stylist is good at their job.

I have had so many horrible haircuts to give them credits.

Depends on the cosmetologist. But sure most of them have many talents.
bookerdana · M

calicuz · 56-60, M
Yes, it takes talent.
No. It's related to chemistry and biology. It's a near sacred duty.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@Roundandroundwego oh yeah like some mortar and pestal type stuff. Right!
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Not when I'm the customer.
BlobbyMcBlobface · 56-60, M
Yes, especially if they use scissors
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
