So has anyone had a paranormal experience that they would like to share? What happened and where did it happen?

Being an amateur paranormal investigator I've had several. Here's one of my quicker stories. Most are long, too long to type out.

This happened close to 15 years ago. At the time my wife and I were living in a trailer. We were getting ready for bed one night and she was in the bedroom and I was in the other end of the trailer looking for something. I found it and was about to head to the bedroom when I heard a voice that sounded exactly like my Dad! The voice called out to me, called me by name! Well my Dad lived nowhere near us. But I thought I'd check around and look outside. I turned on the outside lights and looked around. There was no one around anywhere that I could see. I never heard that voice again. Very strange. I called my Dad the next day and told him about it. He thought it was strange also. He assured me that it was not him. I figured it wasn't but I needed to check and tell him about it anyway. That was just the tip of the iceberg of the activity that we got while living there. Many other things happened to us. Nothing threatening, but mischievous, and attention getting. I was already interested in the paranormal before we lived there. Had many other experiences in the previous places that I (as had my wife) had lived in before. But after everything that happened to us there we both began to study and investigate. So our hobby of paranormal investigations started there in that trailer.

I visited a friend, his wife and their newly born baby in Tasmania in 1992 (on holiday from Western Australia) on a farm outside of the town, Geeveston in about 1992.
My first night there I was awoken by the baby crying. After 15 minutes, with the baby still crying I went into its room and the baby was sound asleep.
Puzzled I went back to bed. Almost immediately the baby crying noise occurred again. Once again I went into the room and the baby was still sleeping soundly.
This time, the mother came into the room and asked me what I was doing to which I replied, "I heard the baby crying and came to check on him"
"Well he is not crying so you can go back to bed"
It was obvious she was very wary of my presence, standing over the baby at 12.30 am.
Upon returning to bed, once again there was the very distinct sound of a baby crying. This time I stayed in bed and encountered an incredible, I do not even know how to put this into words.
I had this vision, experience, of a well dressed lady in very fine period clothes. She started talking to me, in my head, saying that she had lost her baby and could I help her find him.
What does one say to that? I had a conversation with her for about 20 minutes until she just "Went away".
All very weird but all true. This went on for another two nights, same events, though I never went to check on the baby because I knew he was asleep.
The fourth night nothing, and the experience never happened again. I never related this to the parents because I am sure the mother would have asked me to leave.
This was a true experience, there is no need for me to make stuff up.
One unexplained event of several I have experienced over my life time.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@Gusman WOW! Amazing! I've never had a conversation with an entity before, let alone be around one long enough to even attempt a conversation. It's a shame you couldn't have gotten that on camera. That would have been something to see. But even if you tried, that doesn't mean you could have captured it. I've learn that ghosts won't show themselves unless they want to. So they may not even appear on film or photograph if they don't wish to.

My girlfriend and i were babysitting a couple of kids in a house that was 125 years old. We were watching a family movie with the kids. They were very young. The wind suddenly started and whistled under the door. We heard a noise in the kitchen and a wood chair was knocked over. I picked it up and went back to help the kids go to bed. Then heard a screeching noise again from the kitchen. I went back and all 4 wooden chairs were now on the opposite side of the room. After kids to bed she washed the dishes in the sink and we proceded to watch a mystery movie. There came a dripping sound from the kitchen. Even though she washed all the dishes, a spoon was back in the sink and the drip was hitting it and making a very loud noise. I washed the spoon figuring she left it and moved it to the drainer and went back to watch the movie. 5 minutes lster heard the same drip noise. It was back in the sink drip hitting the spoon. I might also say i twisted the faucet so the drip was stopped.
Another day we were there for the older childs 5th birthday and after we lit the candles and sang happy birthday the parents went out and this was in the daytime. We put the kids down for a nap and sat down to chat and my gf heard a noise from the kitchen. She went to investigate but found nothing. As she was walking back into the living room(behind her was the dining room with cake and candles still on). I was staring at her and she put the candles out on the cake as we left them burning until the kids went to bed. As she walked back to the living room i was still watching her and suddenly behind her smoke rose from one of the candles and fire lit up on the candle agsin. She had put each one out and felt them with her fingers. . The owners said all the time stuff like this always happened

@ronisme1 Oh wow! That's pretty extreme activity! Have you experienced anything else? Did you ever get any answers? That's wild!
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
@Jayghost no there were a lot of instances there. We figured a poltergeist
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@ronisme1 Yeah that's what I was thinking too. It sounds like a poltergeist.

Okay, séances might not be "Paranormal" but they are associated with conjuring "spirits"
I know that many think Ouija Boards are pseudoscience and only work through the unconscious mind directing the Planchette to where we want it to go.

I moved from Tasmania to Esperance Western Australia. A distance of over 4000km/2500miles.
After several months I had a small group of friends. One day, with little to do we decided to have a séance.
All set up, (we used an inverted drinking glass as the planchette), inane questions were asked. My question was, "Do you know my father" (He had died two years earlier)
My father's full name was spelled out - Cecil Kenneth G......
I was fascinated. How could this be? I had never mentioned my father to anyone.
Further into the séance we asked what is your name? The reply was Adam Ant.
Then the really astonishing thing happened.
Unprompted "Kill Tony" was spelled out. Tony was one of the participants.
This occurred three times in succession and Tony was getting rather upset.
Suddenly, the glass shot across the table and slammed into Tony's chest with an audible thud.
Tony squealed, jumping up from his seat, he picked the glass up off the floor, ran outside and smashed the glass on the ground.
A true event.
Far from being afraid, I was fascinated. After a few hours I became perturbed because I began to doubt all I thought I knew about death.
Thinking "What if there is something we do not know about? Does this mean I am going to come face to face with all my tormentors over my life"?
I was really upset at that prospect for a number of days until I put it out of my mind.

I have a few; most aren't that interesting though. I experienced sleep paralysis once, have seen shadow/faceless figures in my room & occasionally feel as though I'm being "touched" when I'm in the process of falling asleep. I have some stories on my page if you're interested in reading them, but they were written hastily, so they're probably just a jumbled mess...I haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.

I do have another not-so-interesting story that happened at the orchard I once worked at...not sure if I posted it but I don't mind sharing again. So one night (some time around 8-10pm), just as break was ending, I was walking back to my work area & as I passed the end of the sorting line, I saw a little girl (who was transparent, mind you). This girl walked through the wall of one of the big walk-in freezers. The end...However, I'm somewhat convinced it was that little girl who locked me in the small walk-in outside, but since that happened during the day, I'm not totally sure. The paranormal activity typically happens after midnight & out in the fields.

So the activity takes place at the farm that shares the area with an old dairy farm. I don't believe anyone has had any experiences at the other farms. Going back to the part about the old dairy farm...I believe it was years before the orchard came into existence because our packhouse used to house farming equipment for the dairy farm...I think. There was a huge fire that resulted in a huge loss for the dairy farm, including family members, one of whom was a little girl.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@whiskeymoon very interesting! I'd love to do some research into that to find out more information.
whiskeymoon · 31-35, F
@Jayghost Into the orchard? It's called Subarashii Kudamono & was started by Joel Spira. That's as far as my knowledge goes. I know nothing about the dairy farm.

Were those comments directed at me as well? If so no, I have no answers or know what's causing it. The presence I feel at night started happening after I was SAed I don't know if his energy was still connected to me directly or if it was that stupid stuffed bear he gave me. It happened more when I still had the bear, but after I threw it away, it's been once in a blue moon. If I'm being honest, though it doesn't feel bad or traumatizing...and I sound insane.

I haven't had any experience since leaving the orchard...well the other stuff happened after I left but wasn't connected to it. I haven't really talked to any of the guys afterward, but the guy in charge now & the ones currently working there have all had experiences...they've been there way longer than I have

I lived in a really nice house in NJ when i was younger. I always saw movement in the living room out of the corner of my eye. Always wrote it off to a trick of the light. What got me when i was aline there was a broken tile in the entry hall before turning left into the hall where the bed rooms were. Plink would go the tile then you could hear foot steps and hear the floor squeek as if some one was walking on it. I spent a lot of time alone and it was constant with the foot steps. I could see shadows under the door. Freaked me out when alone.
Once i had friends over for movie night when my parents were out of town. David was looking over my shoulder and said he saw my parents come in the front door and walk to the bed rooms. No car in the driveway. I took every one back into the bed rooms to show we were alone. They were freaking out all night. I saw nothing heard nothing all night. At least the spirits were playing with them and not me.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@Confined OMG! Sounds like that place still has a hold on you! Have you talked to the current owners? If so have they ever had an experiences living there?
Confined · 56-60, M
@Jayghost never talked to them.
Confined · 56-60, M
@Jayghost Yeah. I have had dreams of being st home....but it was that house.
kodiac · 22-25, M
I was living in an old farmhouse with a foster family including a girl younger than me . I was sitting at a desk that was up against the stairwell facing the steps . I was writing so not really looking up from the page . I noticed the little girl coming down the steps not really paying attention her legs were at eye level with me she had on a long nightgown and passed by me i thought nothing of it until i realized she never came off the steps at the bottom also the girl living here always wore pajamas. I think it was a good experience because I'd always thought ghosts would be scary but since i thought she was real i wasn't scared at all .I even went upstairs and checked the girl living here was in bed sleeping.

Our neighbors across the street (long story short) they passed away. Mrs Acampa came to visit me after her death, i had a dream a fog rolled into the back yard. A boat appeared. She and her husband were on it. They waved. Viola appeared next to me. I said my mom told me you had died. She said yeah funny how that worked out. I cant stay. I just came to say good bye. She suddenly appeared back on the boat with her husband. They floated away.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@Confined Crazy! My wife has had dreams about people that have passed before too. It's very strange! I can't explain it.

10th February 2018, 5 something am, my tv turns itself on, starts showing white noise and then flicking to a blue screen then it kept alternating. Turned it off.. it turned back on half an hour later. Got a new tv..that turned itself on as well but was just showing a channel. Now i have my tv unplugged. I can sometimes hear noises coming from it, like electrical noises even though its not even plugged in.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@PaleandPolluted That is amazing! I've heard of instances like this happening in other locations but I've never experienced it personally. That's so wild! Obviously SOMETHING is going on there! There's no other explanation that I can give, without physically being there and investigating myself, to explain that! WOW!

During my brain surgery I saw myself being operated by doctors in OT while I was actually under GA. I saw myself from 15 feet far and 10 feet above my body. I also heard the voice of one of my surgeon asking for something(like scissor) from the nurse.
whiskeymoon · 31-35, F
Oh, I got one more....I was reading & when I was at the top of the page, I just happened to notice a circular shadow above my closet door. I didn't really pay too much attention to it & went back to my book. It took maybe a second for it to register that there's no light source that would cast a shadow on the ceiling. So I stared at it for another second (it happened pretty fast) & these little tendrils came out, it darted across the ceiling & out my bedroom door about 8-9ft away. After it went out, I think I was in a state of shock or something because I put my book down & went to sleep with the light on. Never saw that shadow blob again, but I do see quick flashes of shadowy wisps once in a while in my bathroom, of all places

So i was visiting a friend at her moms house whos husband died maybe 30 year ago or more and there was a young woman with her then maybe 6 year old daughter. The 6 year old was looking down a hall that lead to the bedrooms of the house. The young girl said a few things. Her mother asked who she was talking to. The young girl said she was talking to a man. There was no Man in the house. Just us females.

@HorrorandMusic Wouldn’t you rather know rather than believe? Scientists could conduct investigations but there needs to be actual physical evidence. Not anecdotes and testimonies.

Human brains are poor data collectors and our senses are easily fooled.

A unexplained gust of wind rushed down the Mall at Princess Diana’s funeral, before the coffin approached.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@peterlee Oh I heard about that! That's creepy!
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
I’ve had 4 events I have bo rational explanation for in my life but their all long stories.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@Captainjackass ok I understand. Same with all of mine. That one is just one of the shorter ones.
peterlee · M
There are places that have a bad atmosphere that you are better away from.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@peterlee I agree! Some places I refuse to go and investigate because the aura of the place is just too dark. One place we've gone too before we now refuse to go back to because oh how the place changed the last time we went there. It was way darker and more foreboding then the other times we were there. My wife had a very scary experience there that we don't wish to repeat. Too long of a story to go into. The place I'm talking about is The Moonville Tunnel outside of MacArthur, Ohio. The place is quite evil, never thought it was. It always seemed tame, but that last time was very dangerous! Again too long of a story to get into but we will NOT be going back ever again!
peterlee · M
@Jayghost places where there have been murders. They give me the shudder.

But there are also places of prayer.
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
I got two long stories

Which one you want?

Ouija board incident in 2004

Or

UFO sighting ?
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@Bignakedguy The Ouija Board. Sounds cool!
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
@Jayghost back in 04. My older sister and my cousin played with the board in my room.

Next thing you know, my mom and sister were experiencing sleep paralysis. But in my day we called them “Froze ups”. I started to get them as well.

I was 12, I didn’t think much of it. I thought demons were just stuff of fiction. I didn’t even know what a oujia board looked like. I kept thinking “ Jumanji” whenever someone mentioned it.

My sister was going through it. She woke up to a deep voice singing one her favorite Siouxsie and banshees song. That might sound amusing but I heard it down the hallway- her room was next to mine. It was chilling. It sounded as if it was mocking the song.

By the way- this was close to Halloween. Even though things were getting worse- we as a family wanted to rent a movie. A scary movie. This is relevant to the incident in an almost ironic sense.

We went to Hollywood Video and told our mom “Ma, we want a scary ass movie! Not the wolf man, not dragula and not the creature from the black lagoon! We want the scariest movie you know!”

And my mom was like “Ooooh you hoes ain’t ready!“

So she rented The Omen. If you know you know!

I fully believe watching that movie while amplified the activity. Especially the fact that both my sister and cousin didn’t say “goodbye” to the board.

One night- my sisters and I slept in my parents room.

We all said a prayer and read a verse in the Bible. In hopes for protection.

I remember looking at the ceiling. And suddenly hearing a tapping sound under my mom’s bed. At first I assumed it was my cat. But it couldn’t have been. My mom’s bed is too damn low.

In the corner of my eye- I saw a pale hand stretching out of the bed. It was going to strangle my sister, it was moving so slowly and carefully.

I remember black smoke behind it as it came closer.

When I fully realized what I was looking at, I lunged up! And started saying “ Jehovah!” For protection and saw the hand slip back under the bed.

Next thing you know- the blanket levitated and was taking form of a humanoid silhouette. It eventually fell back down on the floor! As if it didn’t have the energy to fully manifest.

It was very frightening.

Our house was full of activity for a while.

The demons were targeting my sister the most. She would smell awful! And sweat profusely!

I found years later, when demons target one human, that human will smell foul. My poor sister.

One night, a crow hit my sister! And I saw it. All the windows were closed.

And finally- in my opinion- the final night of this evil took place in our living room. I woke up to my sister crying and praying with all her heart.

I for some reason, placed my hand on her shoulder and kept saying “Faith hope love and trust” over and over and my younger sister said it as well.

And I swear til this day- I heard battle drums. In my opinion- I think the drumming sound was angels.

The activity after this lessen and lessen.

I have photos somewhere

@Jayghost I'll look tomorrow
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@WowwGirl ok. I'm afraid most of mine are stored on an old computer that we no longer use. One of these days I'll have to fire it up and see if I can get it working and get all my pictures off of it.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Jayghost me too it may be in space idk
Amateur, which means you give and accept anecdotes.
@Jayghost Is it really worth the investment of time and money? Skepticism is a rational point of view.
Jayghost · 51-55, M
@BlueSkyKing Very true, but if you have the experiences that my wife and I have had, with no way of explaining them, you start to become a believer. Just like Sherlock Holmes once said: "Whenever you eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth". So we've stuck to that philosophy and it's done us good. We ALWAYS try to find logical explanations to EVERYTHING first before we jump on it and claim it as paranormal. We always try to debunk everything. We are still skeptics at heart.
The Dragon In My Garage
by Carl Sagan

"A fire-breathing dragon lives in my garage"

Suppose (I'm following a group therapy approach by the psychologist Richard Franklin) I seriously make such an assertion to you. Surely you'd want to check it out, see for yourself. There have been innumerable stories of dragons over the centuries, but no real evidence. What an opportunity!

"Show me," you say. I lead you to my garage. You look inside and see a ladder, empty paint cans, an old tricycle -- but no dragon.

"Where's the dragon?" you ask.

"Oh, she's right here," I reply, waving vaguely. "I neglected to mention that she's an invisible dragon."

You propose spreading flour on the floor of the garage to capture the dragon's footprints.

"Good idea," I say, "but this dragon floats in the air."

Then you'll use an infrared sensor to detect the invisible fire.

"Good idea, but the invisible fire is also heatless."

You'll spray-paint the dragon and make her visible.

"Good idea, but she's an incorporeal dragon and the paint won't stick." And so on. I counter every physical test you propose with a special explanation of why it won't work.

Now, what's the difference between an invisible, incorporeal, floating dragon who spits heatless fire and no dragon at all? If there's no way to disprove my contention, no conceivable experiment that would count against it, what does it mean to say that my dragon exists? Your inability to invalidate my hypothesis is not at all the same thing as proving it true. Claims that cannot be tested, assertions immune to disproof are veridically worthless, whatever value they may have in inspiring us or in exciting our sense of wonder.

What I'm asking you to do comes down to believing, in the absence of evidence, on my say-so. The only thing you've really learned from my insistence that there's a dragon in my garage is that something funny is going on inside my head. You'd wonder, if no physical tests apply, what convinced me. The possibility that it was a dream or a hallucination would certainly enter your mind. But then, why am I taking it so seriously? Maybe I need help. At the least, maybe I've seriously underestimated human fallibility. Imagine that, despite none of the tests being successful, you wish to be scrupulously open-minded. So you don't outright reject the notion that there's a fire-breathing dragon in my garage. You merely put it on hold. Present evidence is strongly against it, but if a new body of data emerge you're prepared to examine it and see if it convinces you. Surely it's unfair of me to be offended at not being believed; or to criticize you for being stodgy and unimaginative -- merely because you rendered the Scottish verdict of "not proved."
