Christians: If Hitler genuinely repented of his sins and accepted Jesus into his heart, he would go to heaven, yes?

And if someone who lives a good life does not accept Jesus they go to hell, yes?

Does that seem like justice to you?

All a bit silly as we know that Hitler shot him self after bringing down a Gotterdamerung of destruction on the German people as a punishment for losing the war. He believed that all Germans should die rather than surrender as a punishment for them for losing the war . The last desperate act of the atheistic regime which was determined to destroy Christianity in Germany after the Jews.

@AbbeyP

lol ok but i'm just going to ask you the same question😉

Well, then, let's put it into practical terms the atheist could compare it to. If there was a scientist who was once a Christian that wanted to join an atheist club and a Christian who didn't believe in evolution which would you let join your club?

Theological doctrine doth seem dumb -

It’s interesting though, studying some of the predecessors of the Christian doctrine. There are tons of Greek mystery cults wherein initiation rewards its members, but it’s hard to say with what. Some magical engravings describe directions for getting “out of hell” and “into heaven” in the afterlife, some engravings that exist intentionally say the opposite of those directions (counter-magic?); some Tragedies depict the Mysteries absolving blood guilts, which like sin in the Bible can sometimes transfer through generations. Those Tragedies specifically have a lot to say about justice, the truth, and law, and they tend to stay pretty ambivalent.

Oof, all this just to say that it is odd how widespread doctrine can become. I’m mostly rambling though lmao
@Sirsnowman

Religion is a funny thing and it almost always looks crazy from the outside.
Christians are (despite what their martyr complex tells them) currently enjoying a great deal of acceptance and religious dominance and they seem to fall back on that widespread acceptance of their theology to dismiss challenges which expose problematic elements of their theology.

@Pikachu it’s cyclical for sure. I guess here’s hoping to a rise of mysticism? Or rationalism? Lmao
@Sirsnowman

Maybe cynical, maybe just indoctrinated.
I'd prefer more rationalism lol
Who wants to go to heaven a be with the "forgiven"? God might have forgiven him. But I didn't. So I'll be in hell where I get to keep my soul and not become a brain wiped narcissist worshiper.
@canusernamebemyusername

Yeah...nah.
I get the righteous indignation but if we're talking eternity then i don't want to spend it burning, thanks very much lol.

Neither place exists. Unfortunately the people who believe they do are still capable of making other people's lives a misery while they are still alive.
@ninalanyon

Uncharitable but well put😉
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Pikachu Uncharitable? Moi?

:-)

I try to be charitable to most people and their opinions but there are some who are beyond the pale.
@ninalanyon

lol for sure.

Hitler would never go to heaven. Anyone one who knows anything about the fate of the soul knows he would never be allowed unless heaven is corrupt. Ordering and condoning mass murder and genocide are some of the things that get a soul pushed.
@Greyjedi

I think to call the atrocities for which Hitler is responsible a "sin" doesn't really seem to cover the severity of his actions.
And yet in the eyes of god that's all they are and a sin is a sin is a sin. No sin is tolerable in heaven but the only requirement to be absolved of that crime is (ostensibly) to repent of your sins and accept the sacrifice of Christ Jesus in payment for those sins.

So given those criteria (and do correct me if i've got them wrong), why wouldn't a repentant Hitler get to enter heaven?
If you’ve seen the comedy film Bedazzled, that’s what Mussolini did. Straight to Heaven.
@BlueSkyKing

lol yeah that seems problematic.

I realize it's hypothetical, but Hitler wouldn't likely go to heaven and everyone goes to hell, Biblically speaking.

He doesn't seem like the kinda dude that would have though.
@DDonde

Well i also don't think heaven exists but this is just a hypothetical.
