Energy never truly disappears; it just changes form. I believe the love we give in this life becomes that light for us in the next. Even if I don't know who is waiting, I believe the 'light' is the peace we’ve earned.

@HPL69 Yes, I can understand that.
Yes, dear Lady Bronte, I believe I will see my loved ones in heaven. Those in my family that have accepted Jesus as Savior, according to God's promises in His Word. That is because the Bible explicitly confirms that those in Christ, shall be in heaven. That would include all who have accepted Christ as Savior, whether friends or family, and since we have the promise of eternal life in heaven ourselves, all on Earth who have accepted Jesus as Savior, the Bible says will be there. So, we'll definitely see some of our loved ones and friends in heaven.
Several passages offer hope and reassurance about being reunited with loved ones in the afterlife. Some relevant verses include:
- 1 Corinthians 15:35-58, which discusses the resurrection of the dead and the transformation of our bodies
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, which describes being reunited with loved ones who have passed away when Christ returns
- Revelation 21:4, which promises that God will wipe away every tear and that there will be no more mourning or death.
Scripture says that our Earthly body goes to the Grave but our spirit never dies. Never. Then when Jesus comes back a second time, our bodies shall resurrect from the grave and God will give us new spiritual, heavenly bodies that are perfect and without flaw, disease, or anything like that. They will join with our spirit in heaven. Our spirit never dies. We just change bodysuits. Haha I'm looking forward to that. No more pain.

@LadyGrace Agreed, Lady Grace.

Last November, I had pneumonia really bad, I also had sepsis, and a dka incident where I almost died.
Then something occurred.
No voices, no big flashes of light, but I felt God's presence.
It was an undeniable peace and the feeling that everything was going to be okay.
Some people will say it was an hallucination, but nobody reported I had any hallucinations.
It was gentle like I was being held ,but the presence was undeniable.
Never had that experience before or since.
And it's not something I tell for entertainment purposes never told my care team about it.
So ,yes, I believe that presence will be there when I reach that other side.

@Justmeraeagain I'm sorry you had that scary experience, but glad you were comforted. Nurses often see things like that happen for our patients. It gives us hope too.
@Justmeraeagain What a beautiful testimony. I love it. It was definitely God. Only he can give that peace that passes all understanding. I'm thrilled for you. I'm so happy you're still here. And so happy you experienced His presence.
You said: "Nobody gets out of this life for free. I was hoping for better in the next one. Lol."
You'll definitely have your wish next time. You'll definitely get a better life for free...Eternal life in heaven, and that's something to shout about and be thankful for. There's nothing better than that. The Bible says we only get one shot at this life, and then we come before God, and he gives us a new body, a resurrected body, those in Christ. That is really a wonderful hope and promise God gave us. I don't know what others believe, that's up to them, but I have read in God's Word that there is no such thing as reincarnation.

It's scientifically observed that the brain still has electrical activity minutes following death and inactivity of other organs. It's the same kinda activity found during dreaming, memory recall/flashbacks and meditation. Your final waves of consciousness could be taking you anywhere. It's assumed your life flashes in replays before your eyes.
From the accounts I've heard of people who have experienced near death experiences, there's always description of there being a bright light, I fully believe that. I think anything else is a personal manifestation based on your life.
They found this when using an EEG to detect the seizures in an epilepsy patient who happened to have a heart attack and pass.

@HijabaDabbaDoo Very interesting. Thanks.
@HijabaDabbaDoo
Nothing is impossible for God so I believe in NDE's, as well. God used these people to come back to tell others what to expect, but we already know what to expect from the Bible. However, not all people who have near-death experiences will see a bright light. Some won't make it to heaven, the Bible is clear on that, and that is not because God doesn't want them, but because they chose to ignore Christ's invitation for salvation. Only the individual can make that choice. They are responsible for where they spend eternity. Christ throws out a lifeline to all in the world to receive salvation; to escape the condemnation that sin placed on us all. If they don't grab for that lifeline, that will not be Christ's fault. He offers it to all, but there are those who say, "I want nothing to do with you." Though it breaks God's heart, he will give them their hearts' desire. He will not go against that.

Yes I do. Some experiences in my life the last few years have made me more sure of that at least and gives me comfort.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That's a great thing to be sure of.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@LadyBronte For the longest time I had I suppose a more agnostic animist view of things. Everything in the universe that is made of matter is basically densely packed energy. And we know from physics energy cannot be destroyed so on some level something of us persists. Beyond that I was never sure.
I have been a practicing pagan since the 90s and mostly Wicca but some aspects never quite felt right.
That led to alot of searching and well my first experience with the divine that I could attach to a specific deity and tradition.
Took awhile to figure out what exactly what happening and what was calling me. But when the lady who leads the souls of the dead to the underworld in the times of my ancestors I took notice.
That has led down a rabbit whole I still have not found the bottom of but more things about myself make more sense to me know.
I no longer fear what is coming. And I still battle depression but I know now more than ever I still have reasons to stick around longer.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I hope you continue to find reasons to stay and to hope.
SomeMichGuy · M
I have had different feelings, but a NDE makes me feel that there is definitely a marker...
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SomeMichGuy I feel like there is a Maker as well. Maybe your NDE gives you more clarity than most.

If I pass away, I would love to see my grandfather again.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@scorpiolovedeep I hope to see my loved ones again too - including my grandpa.
robbie2499 · 61-69, F
I think at the point of death we do see our loved ones. I have no idea what happens after that.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@robbie2499 Yeah - would be easier if we knew. At least I think it would.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I hope I see my loved ones even if it is just a hallucination due to my brain being flooded with chemicals.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SwampFlower I feel the same. The older I get, the more I wish it.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@LadyBronte me too. I’ve had a few close calls where I would have been aware and I just want to be blissfully unaware having happy hallucinations lol
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SwampFlower Yes, I get that.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
I don't know, tbh. I'll just find out when I get there.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@FoxyGoddess Yep.
Magicianzini · M
Probably not. That's probably been out sourced, and I'm going to have to walk for eons to find my own way to wherever I need to go... After being put on hold for a decade or two.
Magicianzini · M
@LadyBronte Maybe I'll be lucky enough to float or coast.. but I doubt it. Everything's always difficult 🤣🤣🤣
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Magicianzini Lol. Well, the floating or coasting would be better!
Magicianzini · M
@LadyBronte Maybe, but let me guess.. there's a boatload of low hanging branches wherever I'd have to pass through LMAO.. I'm just ready for it all.
rinkydinkydoink · M
LOL - of course not. Once it's over, it's over.
Nimbus · M
Most likely the tax man and a debt collector 🙄
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Nimbus Nobody gets out of this life for free. I was hoping for better in the next one. Lol.
Hireath · 36-40, M
Probably... I mean it happens in What Dreams May Come.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Hireath So it's gotta be true, then. 😊
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@LadyBronte Robin Williams wouldn't lie
@Hireath That's just a movie. I don't know what others believe, and that's up to them, but in God's Word, it says there are no second chances, no second lives. Nowhere in scripture does it speak of reincarnation. In fact, it speaks of just the opposite. It says we are appointed only once to die and then after that we go to meet God and there will be the determination of where we shall spend eternity, according to what we chose and whom we chose to follow in this life.
Musicman · 61-69, M
I am a Christian. I firmly believe there is a Heaven and all believers will be there. God said it. That makes it so.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Musicman Yes. Same here. But I'd be lying if I said doubts never creep in.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte Non of us are perfect. We all have doubts from time to time.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Musicman Yes. I think it is in our nature to be curious and often have doubts.
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
Someone or something. Not an all-powerful anything, not an all-knowing anything. But perhaps a guide.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@ItsMeMorgue Interesting.

Yesn't(?)
BlueSkyKing · M

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@BlueSkyKing So, do you believe your loved ones are waiting?
BlueSkyKing · M
@LadyBronte Zero evidence.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
I think we all go to hell
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Ferise1 Do you really? I don't think everyone gets to heaven, but I don't believe everyone goes to hell.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@LadyBronte this universe is filled with infinite entropy infinite space and infinite black holes. When we die, we get sucked into it.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Ferise1 We will have to disagree on that. I don't believe it is as harsh as your belief make it seem.
