I never know how to respond when someone tells me I need God or Jesus...

I have no intention of being disrespectful, I deeply respect people's beliefs and spiritual journeys. There's nothing wrong with sharing your personal faith.

I know I'm seen as a heathen, and that's fine, according to their beliefs, I am and I'm not worried about how I'm seen. I know what's in my heart, its important to me just like how anyone feels about their path. But I don't tell people they need Lilith or Hecate.

So I never know how to respond. I appreciate the concern and sentiment, but I'm not going to change who I am. It's a strange thing to offer a personal faith as a solution. Especially when there's at least 10,000 (recorded) different religions.

As a Christian with deep faith in my beliefs, I follow not perhaps a biblical doctrine to " save souls" whatever the cost. If my challenge of values stems rebuke then so be it.

We are free to choose our own path in this one life, as per free will.

I accept people for who they are and where they are.

If however I am sought, I'll share my testimony with abandon.

Personally I think you're fabulous. Regardless of which sides of 10000 lines you stand upon

I just came from a funeral, a very Christian funeral, in an actual church where I spent time decades ago. I kinda understand how you feel, it's not that I'm not religious but that's not my religion. I'm not going to judge you for whatever it is you believe or don't believe.
@robb65 I think it's cool. People have wars over religion when peace is a fundamental of most. Coexisting is the important part.

I grew up in a Christian household and we were always taught to tell others about Jesus and share the faith. I do appreciate you being respectful about other’s beliefs. Not many people are like that, even most Christians
I think you saw the same post I did. I was also wondering how to respond seeing how the post is very kind and genuine in wanting others to feel better.
@froggtongue this was about a response to a post I made but I definitely see people of different faiths trying to share something bright and beautiful. It is genuine and I know to them it means a lot. I guess it's best to leave it at that.
@ScreamingFox I think we struggle with this because we know that if they bring more to their religion, the more who will take things to a religious extreme. And that's most what we're trying to prevent. That and trying to help them catch up on what we know as a species. Things like statistics and likelihood of events and science that contradicts their beliefs.

Just say I'll pray for you too then walk away. Ive had people say religious stuff to me too. I just nod and say the above. No drama involved.

You must be around a lot of Christians in order to hear this and whosoever tells you this must feel some type of love for you.

since there is over 10,000 recorded different religions, why would that be if it wasn't installed in us that there is a higher power than us there is something supernatural going on that we can't see. Unbelievers will fail humans just made it up to explain what they don't understand. Nope it's more than that.

And of these 10,000 different religions what do they have in common? Generally it's an entity or entities that created all things visible. Generally it's an entity or entities that comes from the skies down to earth, they are from somewhere else other than Earth. Generally it's an entity that is Spirit / supernatural and can also have physical form that the eye can see.

It's your right to be who you choose to be, to believe what you choose to believe or not believe. Why not separate yourself from them? hopefully anger will not rile up
I believe in respecting everyone's personal spirituality/religious philosophy.
Until they push it in my face and tell me I'm going to burn in hell unless I do as they do, then they get a different me.

One of the many things I don't understand about people is why the need to make their own personal belief yours. They can't just be happy with what works for them, they have to try to make it mine or pass laws based on their religion or turn science on it's head to try to prove what they have is the real thing.
@robingoodfellow and most of us have a lot in common in our practices and traditions and values anyway. The rest should be personal. And hey, celebrate with each other! Except thanksgiving eff that.

Those other names don't sound familiar, but I know why Christians tend to do that. It's something Jesus said which has been translated into English. 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'.
My issue is alot of the people who feel emboldened to tell people "You need Jesus" or "you need God in your life" often have no idea what the bible says and think that Christianity is about imposing their views on others or racking up converts like a points system.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I tell them they need to get to know them better 👀
@SwampFlower many years ago I went to church and bible study to understand. Jesus was rad. Is that what you mean?
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@ScreamingFox Well that and someone using their religion to attack or judge someone else clearly means they have more to learn about their faith.

"I tried Jesus. He made into an athiest after twenty years."

Tell them they need Lilith. Force your beliefs right back. Equality.

Ignoring them works

@BlueSkyKing I'm not here to put down anyone's beliefs
