Trying to convert another shows weak faith to me

Some people might think they are saving you but that's their belief. And anyone trying to convince you that your beliefs are wrong is just as weak as the convert. Having a secure faith or lack of means letting others believe as they wish
Yeah but...if you're a Christian for example then you're commanded to spread the good word.
And if you really believe it then you want to save people from the fate that awaits them on judgement day if they don't accept Jesus.

There are good and bad ways to go about that and people who just use it as an excuse to be unpleasant but i don't think it can be fairly said that people who earnestly try to convert people are doing so because their own faith is weak.
@Axeroberts I mean, I GUESS...

I remember back when I was a Christian, every time I failed to convert someone, I would begin to have doubts about my chosen path. That's part of what led to where I am now, in fact.
@Axeroberts

I've got a lot of experience with people who see to be trying to convince themselves that science corroborates a literal interpretation of the Bible.
I've met none that i can think of who were proselytizing and seemed unsure.

I know OF those kinds of people but my experience does not support that as the usual condition.

@Pikachu i guess it depends who you talk to. I guess it's just a feeling I get
Go out to all the world........
Ordinarily, I'd agree with you, but according to Christianity, everybody who doesn't believe exactly the right way is going to hell. So not trying to convert people basically means you don't give a fuck about them.

That's why I will never block someone for trying to convert me to Christianity. I might be all crusty and sarcastic with them, but I at least appreciate the effort.
@Axeroberts I know it's just a belief. But if it's someone else's belief that I'm going to hell if they don't at least try to help me, and they don't try to help me, what does that mean?

@LordShadowfire they don't realize it's a belief. If they are not rational then that's different
@Axeroberts You should watch the movie Dogma. Ideas are always better than beliefs.
