Trying to convert another shows weak faith to me

Some people might think they are saving you but that's their belief. And anyone trying to convince you that your beliefs are wrong is just as weak as the convert. Having a secure faith or lack of means letting others believe as they wish

Yeah but...if you're a Christian for example then you're commanded to spread the good word.
And if you really believe it then you want to save people from the fate that awaits them on judgement day if they don't accept Jesus.

There are good and bad ways to go about that and people who just use it as an excuse to be unpleasant but i don't think it can be fairly said that people who earnestly try to convert people are doing so because their own faith is weak.

I remember back when I was a Christian, every time I failed to convert someone, I would begin to have doubts about my chosen path. That's part of what led to where I am now, in fact.

I've got a lot of experience with people who see to be trying to convince themselves that science corroborates a literal interpretation of the Bible.
I've met none that i can think of who were proselytizing and seemed unsure.

I know OF those kinds of people but my experience does not support that as the usual condition.

@Pikachu i guess it depends who you talk to. I guess it's just a feeling I get
