@PhoenixPhail you got to remember, back in the sixties, such dye's where very expensive. And my mother was a factory worker, making minimum wage.
She couldn't afford that until later. Actually, in the 80's when her hair started to grey, she sometimes dyed her hair. But then it was brunette, not red.
@DeWayfarer my mums mum was irish, and hubs great grandfather scots, so some of ours comes from there! But how we have do many shades in the family is a puzzle! Heres a pic from last spring of my sisters in law and our girls. All natural redheads. The lady front right has a few lighter streaks now to cover her grey! We are sure doing our bit to keep the red gene going! Can you see the strong family likeness??? Lol
