Sumer, one of the most ancient civilizations on earth, left clay tablets with a written tale of their alien gods, who came to earth to mine it for resources in short supply on their own planet. These "gods" were called the Annunaki.
Although I reference one version of the story in the link below, another version I have read stated that the Annunaki found primitive animal like creatures here, and altered them to be workers in their mines.
The version I read, stated that one of the Annunaki eventually used his own substance to create even more intelligent workers, and the head of the expedition was horrified, and left the planet.

Any such hypothesis would also have to explain the spawning of our close primate relatives with their very similar DNA & morphology, and the spawning of all the other mammals with their related DNA, similar skeletons, etc.
Basically, any such hypothesis would have to explain the tree of life on Earth for the last 2 billion or so years, with all the random branches, mass extinction events, etc. In that light the "alien spawn" hypothesis seems pretty unlikely.

Panspermia as the potential method for how life reached this planet is possible, but seems rather unlikely to me. The odds of humans having an alien origin distinct from that of other life on this planet are so close to nil that they aren't even worth considering.

There is a dead religion from Sumeria that promulgated that.
@Pfuzylogic Thanks for that
