No.
I think A:I is a myth.
Doesn't exist.
I'm sure some hope it does.
I'm certain some hope it will give them some sort of advantage in either life or (more likely) business.
But the western world has trouble enough switching from one style of banking to another without needing to issue constant updates to correct issues that arise as a result fault finding post rollout.

@Picklebobble2 why post this?

@Ferise1 Trump wasn't elected until 2017.
Hitchens died in 2011.
So he wouldn't have known Trump as President.
This is somebody's illustration of how you can manipulate A:I to encourage a made up view that doesn't exist in reality

@Picklebobble2 yes I know all that but so what? Just use ChatGPT and see how smart and useful it is.!

So-called "AI" is just a more advanced version of the "text predictor" function on your phone.
It's impressive technology, don't get me wrong - but it's a deep misunderstanding to think anything it does qualifies as "intelligence".

If you mean DEvolution, then yes.

@Elessar we’re not far away from that. It’s just gonna keep getting smarter and smarter. And I use it for my personal stuff like I’m talking to a friend and it’s extremely helpful and extremely intelligent and the answer comes within a second. It’s mind blowing it writes poems for me for Christ sake.

It is a tool. It can be useful in a lot of instances. I am very against generative AI, though.
I hope not.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Hope not, i caught it lying to me

Could be.. but were not there yet. They are still just an extension of humanity.
But humanity is withering under our own belligerenance. So someone or something will inevitably over take us in a matter of time.

No that would be too fragile, it can only reproduce in a system. So it would at least need too create those facilities and then you would need different AI's competing with each other etc...doesn't seem like evolution yet.

Hopefully not but I'm pretty good with ai

@Ferise1 How?

@Fertilization fixes all your problems
Or the creation who has forgotten life's essence and meaning? You should ask your questions with objectiveness instead of being leading? 😌

No - at least not what we have now.

It will become a useful tool but it has no emotion.
Only when a BCI is developed and it is integrated into biology will it understand us.
By then we will be dust.

Maybe, when/if we'll invent AI

I sure as hell hope not!

No. Western oligarchs will not own it and rent it to everyone.
@Roundandroundwego That too and no one wants to speak of this. Just as capitalism has it's flaws, the rich get richer and the poor become poorer, it's another avenue for capitalists.
Roundandroundwego · 61-69
@awildsheepschase open source AI from China already made the expensive and wasteful Western AI obsolete, the US tends to scream desperately through the media that it's going to run us all and rent the ai to everyone. That's impossible.

Hell no. I've been working for a week straight to try to generate a funny image of Charlie Kirk in hell, and it can't even manage that.
