Question for the Atheists : do you spend a lot of time reading self help books?

“You believe in a book that has talking animals, wizards, witches, demons, sticks turning into snakes, burning bushes, food falling from the sky, people walking on water, and all sorts of magical, absurd and primitive stories, and you say that we are the ones that need help?”
― Mark Twain
@BlueSkyKing and dont forget a god that killed of woman babies children and others when he flooded the whole world because he got pissed off.
no thanks i dont need that type of god
Dont religious people do exactly the same ?

Except its the same book over and over 🤔

depends on the type of self help book. some which are about feeling better with yoga etc aren't that interesting. but some have athletes giving exercise/dieting tips which are interesting.

No, because idolising and emboldening people who believe themselves deific is no better than those who run capitalist churches

I read books and delve into subjects that specifically relate to what I want to accomplish in life. That said, it doesn’t include an agenda that judges others.

I did actually when I was an atheist. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting anywhere in life and nothing worked

I’m not a proclaimed atheist per se but not really a practising religious person. I’ve read some… not frequently though…
