Daddy long leg spiders are not very bright! They just can't get the idea of food being placed in the web, it freaks them out.

A jumping spider would have figured this out already.

Daddy long legs are actually THE most venomous spiders on earth! BUT we don't have to worry about them, because their mouths are so tiny they can't open them far enough to bite us! AND that might be why they can't eat the food you placed in the web.
