We have brown recluse and black widow spiders here and my daughter got bit by one and had to go to the hospital to be treated, my grandmother got bit by a black widow.
@cherokeepatti I was bitten by a black widow about 17 years ago.... it was horrible. I had cramps in muscles that I didn't know I had....lol. I spend almost 24 hours getting treated for the bite and I now have "splotches" on my forearm from the bite... to this day. I can tell ya... to beware... it HURTS and makes you quite ill.
I'm actually not scared of them and pick them up with my bare hands sometimes but with what you have said in mind, I am going to bite them back should they decide they want to do the same to me first.
Spiders are of course a part of our natural world - but I have always disliked them. When I was very young ,our yard was home to a couple of dangerous breeds of spiders,so I formed my view of them at an early age - whenever my brother and I played in the yard, our parents made sure that we always wore shoes and socks.
Yep. I hate spiders. I've lived in areas with black widows and brown recluse. Wolf spiders have a painful bite. Now I live in an area with hobo spiders...similar toxin to the brown recluse, but not as potent.
@Bexsy Prolly not alone.. I can handle 'em. Shoo them out the door if I can. It's cockroaches that will absolutely make me leave my apartment an...call ... someone. 🤷
A little ...i hate them on me. And i dont like those big black bastards that look like they hurt . In fact i hate them more than redbacks for some reason.
But...i dont mind daddy long legs...i have a few living in my bathroom. And Huntsmen i rescue and throw outside .
But them creepy looking black ones just make my skin crawl.
