We have deer foxes wild rabbits bears gopher turtles squirrels birds snakes which i don't care for and bats and there are even flying squirrels in the area not that i ever saw one aside from the one that got into my family's house
At our last house there were fox squirrels a few miles down the road.. they are a large squirrel about the size of a cat
When I HAD a back yard, I had salamanders, which are tiny and hide under rocks, toads, mice, voles, (which are mice without tails), chipmunks, squirrels, a deer, (once), raccoons, and a flock of turkeys. I used to feed ALL the birds. I bought cracked corn for the turkeys, and they settled in my back yard, to my sorrow. They tore up the english ivy, and a LOT of the lawn, and then started mating battles in my perennial beds.
Yeah anything roaming the backyard will be swiftly eaten or ran off by the dog. She guards the house like crazy. Racoons, opposums, squirrels. Sometimes mean ass cattle if they escaped the fence. I guess horses. "domesticated" we don't have chickens anymore. Hogs in the summer cause my nephew takes them for the fair. Lots of Crows. Buzzards stay away cause my dad shoots them on sight. Mainly for trying to kill, harass, and peck the eyes out of newborn calves. Seen some bald eagles and red/grey hawks lately. The woods is like 500 yards away so I can't add those.
Where I am, we see squirrels mostly, occasionally raccoons and skunks come down from the hills. In other parts of the city coyotes and even mountain lions come around.
