8000 days sober

Yesterday I was 8000 days sober.

Just another day where I woke up without a hangover in a clean bed that I recognised next to my wife not a stranger. I did my morning routine including my daily Gratitude List and had a simple, beautiful, sober day. Vacuumed the house, did some soldering work on a guitar. My sister unexpectedly turned up for a chat and a cuppa. Watched TV, read my book. Laid down in the same bed sober, Room not spinning, not hating myself for again drinking too much and worrying about who I'd upset.

Sobriety is priceless!

Here's to you! I have many years before I get anywhere close to that distinction. Congrats! And, here's to the many other trailblazers setting the tone before us. 😊🫡

@Nightwings 5 months is fabulous. Every day is a blessing and a day of real life I nearly missed out on.

Nearly 22 years clean — that's amazing. Lots of folks use their recovery to guide others as sponsors and mentors. Remember: you won't quit until you're ready. Mrs. BonBon, wherever you are, I hope you got the help you deserved.

Protect your sobriety ODAAT everything else is secondary....

Amen! I’ve been sober for 1.5 years. The natural euphoria, the clear mind, lack of fogginess. Nothing like it. It gives you everything that a lack of sobriety promises but never lives up to. I’ll never go back.

@Saucylover great for you. Stick with it. Without question best thing I ever ever did.

I think so too thats why I don't drink or use any intoxicants at all. Lots of people seem to have a problem with that. They get offended that I'm not imparing myself somehow. Makes no sense.
