My alcoholism is just a ridiculous cycle

I'll drink a lot and then get really bad withdrawals the next day to where I never want to drink again. I'll even go for a while without doing so. Then things will get bad for me mentally to where I'm thinking "I could use a drink." Rinse and repeat. 🤦‍♀

I used to be in that space....except I never got hungover just drank every day. The rinse and repeat certainly. Very few alcoholics can stop of their own accord. You need a plan and usually professional help. A supportive partner also helps. If you want it you need to put your sobriety first and above everything else. It is your journey no one elses and everybody has a different journey.

I find that quite relatable....I haven't been drunk since mid-August, but I have no delusions of having kicked alcoholism and I am getting back to the point of wanting to drink again.

I Stopped drinking for a month in august this year, since now the hangover is now getting harder to deal with, and I found out that I was using the alcohol as an excuse to feel better, where I need to enjoy other things in life, My happiness is the most important one. So in the past months I've reduced drastically my alcohol consumption to 4 beers a week or less. And soon will be zero

I hope you can quit.

Alcohol would have killed me, I know it. Had to stop using it like I did for all those years. Killed my aunt, she used it to kill herself, literally. Was quite sad. Not a good way to go.
Alcoholism is a sad affliction

@Jenny1234 I appreciate your concern, but don’t feel bad. I’m just not strong enough.
