Relapsed on Fentanyl and lost my job, lost everything. Should I go to detox or go cold turkey on my own? Btw I'm not attention seeking or anything like that. Just can't think for myself at the moment and need some solid advice. Idk what to do...
Go to detox. Just stopping using (temporarily) doesn't help you deal with the wanting it.

We use drugs for a reason, and a good detox facility will help you learn how to deal with it when you are triggered to use, and to help you learn you deserve and are capable of a far better life than being shackled to Fentanyl.

@Mamapolo2016 I dream of how everything would be different if I were to get clean.
@alainc2490 Everything IS different. But if you just stop cold turkey, YOU will be the same, only not currently using.

@alainc2490 Don't dream. Create goals. Look at where you want to be and where you currently are. Figure out how to build a bridge using goals to get to that point. There's help to do this and people who've walked the road before you. They can keep you out of danger but you have to agree to the journey.

dude, a few weeks ago, I was tired and delusional and felt like ending it all, with a gun to my head (teue story; even posted it on herr), ready to end it all. not even thinking about the daughter I was going to leave behind. and I wasn't posting for attention when I did. just like you, I was venting outloud, seeking advice. I know that this doesn't relate to your situation; I'm just trying to somehow relate. I'm relapsing on giving people what they want, need, deserve out of other people and then short-change them in return. that process can be a "drug", too.

I don't have any advice. I've given up on being charismatic and optimistic lately. I've lost many jobs because of habits and a distorted mentality that got the best of me. even that's a "drug" too. mentally find yourself, where you want to go and who you want to be. that process is going to be HARD AS FUCK, and you will slip, trip and fall. it's legit going to happen. and you have to accept this. that's a part of the process of recovering. you will be distracted. but overall, be the person you envision yourself being as you recover, to be the person you want to be as you recover.

Get help, that’s not easy to do on your own.
alainc2490 · 31-35, M
@Jeephikelove thank u I will. I'm honestly terrified of what's to come...
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Do not just try to go cold turkey, that's not setting yourself up for success and you can make yourself really sick unnecessarily. Work with people who are trained to help someone through this please.
alainc2490 · 31-35, M
@Starcrossed Thank u I will. I just needed some clarity. I want and need to get better.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@alainc2490 I'm sorry you're struggling and about losing your job. I know it's easy for me to say 'don't give up' but I can at least wish you much strength.
Take care bud.
Detox is certainly better qualified to help you. It is safe and monitored. Go to detox.

Go to detox and please get better
Do your best to avoid, suboxine or methadone. Those are harder for users to kick than oppiates.

Carla · 61-69, F
@checkoutanytime i was that person. I was put on methadone for pain management. Then morphine and fentanyl.

Get medical detox (that can be done in the hospital and a lot of rehabs, then get some good old-fashioned rehab.

Relapse is road sign for an upcoming lesson - don't waste it.
Carla · 61-69, F
Go to detox.
They will help you. Fentanyl is no joke.
I got myself down to a 50mg patch and could go no further. And i was a strict medicinal patient.
carpediem · 61-69, M
The fact that you are contemplating the two alternatives is a good step. Get help and get well. You can handle it. Then rock the world.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Go to detox please. I hope your recovery goes well.
