What would you make of...

A person who asked you to chat on another platform such as Whatsapp and shared their mobile phone number with you, after you had told them you only talk via SW?

I’d probably see it as genuine interest.

I get that sometimes too, sweetie..

😘

Trying to get closer 🤔...
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
Two days ago he asked:

"can I share my cell with you?"

I replied - pretty bluntly:

"No. I don't chat on any other platforms other than SW"

Then today he sent this:

"I'm happy to share my mobile no. with you.. we aren't kids. And from the one long chat we had weeks back, I trust you.. so here goes..."

And he just sent his number.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Figured that, you seem to be a smart gal 👍
@PatientlyWaiting25 I assume you never messaged.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Cherrytempt absolutely not. I blocked him.
pdockal · 56-60, M
sounds like you handled it appropriatly
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
I would be upset with them.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@samueltyler2 I just blocked him. He made me very uncomfortable with the fact that he asked once and then didn't listen when I said I wouldn't talk on any other platforms. I don't want to chat with someone who doesn't respect my boundaries like that. 😒
InstructHer · 61-69, M
Stalker territory!
phillyguy · 56-60
Scammer of some kind! I have had women do this to me that is what I say scam!
ironborn · M
You set your boundaries and he tried to bypass them

If you accepted that, then what boundary would he try to push next

You did right.
InstructHer · 61-69, M
And time for another block?
GoFish ·
i end up ghosting them because they don't respect my wishes
Red flags. Friends are offline and give you their number in person.
Noah19000 · 26-30, M
Yeah I'm never a big fan of that either like what's the matter with where we're chatting now
It happens all the time, usually within 5 messages after the start of a conversation. They're probably trying to scam people and don't like the warnings SW give, so they want to first take their victims to a platform where those are more vulnerable.
I've had dudes here give me their number, address and whatnot, it's funny how much sw men don't care.
I would assume they want to talk to you but don’t care to come here. For myself when I’m e agreed to do this, it doesn’t last long because I do not use WhatsApp or any other platform so I’m bad at checking up on them.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
He's probably trying to escalate whatever relationship he believes you two share. That or he's impatient and he wants to use something that provides more immediacy in responses. Or both.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@ViciDraco there wasn't a relationship, I chatted to him occasionally and that was it.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Um...no, I'm not giving my phone number just to anyone. It would require some specific situation for that.

Someone that doesn’t listen to you.
wonkywinky · 56-60, M
Some people try too hard perhaps. We are in control of our own information arent we.You dont have to tell anything you dont want.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
That is childish behavior from the person, I think

Easily dump and block those individuals.
