I talked to older men online all the time when I was in college who were honestly better emotional support to me than my actual dad. I met plenty of kind men who helped me without being creepy or asking for anything in return. Made some good friends.

They likely would say nothing I think if he was your age Amy. I adore how you have trust and respect for someone older dear. I truly respect your way of thinking and approach. It's fantastic to see that quality in someone...I'm older and admire all of that 💜

Asking for advice from someone that has less or equal experience is self defeating, nothing weird about getting advice from someone that's had more time to think.

It's pretty typical for a younger person to look up to an older person.

Always good to have a mentor. Older mentors have more life experience to help guide you.

Why do you even need anyone's opinion ?

You may have invited the trouble by boasting about it.

You should have a mentor who you know and trust. Most would be older.
